Following Mr.B's tutorial, I took it upon myself to try it out. I'm currently at the "posting videos" step of the tutorial. Since it's my first try at this, I went into this without expecting anything from it revenue-wise but rather for the experience.
It's essentially a wordpress site for adult content targeted for a niche pornographic non-existing category (videos of this type are scattered) with embedded videos off of the many bigger tube sites like PornHub, etc.
The initial start-up cost me $58.30. It's going to take $22.90/month for a year starting from about now.
The .com domain was registered on 7th of August using GoDaddy and it cost me $0.99+$10. I went ahead and bought a few other domains accociated with the .com domain and similar, also for a year, and those cost me $24.41 altogether (probably a dumb move for a beginner, but then again...).
Hosting service provided by HostGator's "Hatchling Plan" in the same day for a month to begin with, costing me $10.95 (it shows $3.95, yes, but only if one bought the hosting service for 36 months, so that would have costed me $142.30, otherwise for just one month it was and perhaps still is $10.95).
I also got myself a TubeAce theme and since I couldn't find a better theme at the time, I bought its plugin for $11.95/month that allows me to easily embed the videos I want from various big adult content sites like PornHub, etc - I wouldn't know how else to embed them like that otherwise.
I had my first (10) organic visitors now on the 7th day since I registered it, with bounce rate of 88% - TubeAce's integrated video player directs the viewers to the original site as soon as they try to go full screen or click on the video itself, it's not good, I know... perhaps a pop-under there at some point?
It was about yesterday (13th) I got the website functional - the W3 Total Cache plugin had been giving visitors and bots the 500 internal error without me knowing about it for the first 6 days. I've been using WP Fastest Cache plugin as the alternative now. All my efforts trying to troubleshoot the problem with w3 had failed.
I'm likely not going to add much of any backlinks nor promote it through social media, at least right now I don't plan to. I'll be relying on google search only and see what happens. It's mostly because I'm not sure how to gain traffic viably anyhow else right now. Backlinks sound awfully scammy for a tube site... And no, I'm not going to get naked for this myself as to make it not scammy.
Posts take time to adjust, the SEO score by YOAST on those posts are all red - I won't be adding any description to them, just the title, slug and long-tail keywords, and the tags I won't be changing from what they are by default when imported/ripped from the original sites.
Now, oddly enough, the best niche within this category niche has to do with "gay" in it. Who would have thought?
I would reveal more information about it, much more, but I'm starting to believe in this, and maybe get a few bucks later down the road with this rather than just the experience I aimed for at the beginning. Though, if I later feel like there's not much experience to be had anymore and the money is too far away, I'll probably let it free and perhaps get your thoughts on what went wrong. Perhaps it was the niche itself, perhaps me not trying hard enough, etc. But till then, I guess I'll update this post for whoever is interested. My interest here has to do with 2 things, BMF Coins and the feedback. I don't mind criticism.
