Yes, I know what you mean. You have to play safe, otherwise your risk too much. I also lost in a few projects, I trusted them and they just scammed me. If you invest carefully, you earn less, but at least you earn something. It is slow, but is more stable.
Investing a lot sometimes (very very rarely) might make help you earn something big, but most of the time (like >90% of the time), you'll get scammed.
I try to invest a certain amount, return it and after that reinvest, until I reach a reasonable treshold. After that I try to only withdraw. It is the best strategy, I've come up with. The moment you return your initial investment is crucial. After you've recovered it, it's only net value (if I feel the project is going to stay longer, I reinvest my new earnings from it, but sometimes it's ok to just withdraw). This way I might not earn much, but at least I lower the risk of losing a lot.
