Here is a list of things you could do:

• Become a transcriber: There are websites that will pay you to transcribe audio files (Rev.com is the highest paying one, but you'll need to pass a test first; you can also caption videos and translate stuff, there).

• Work as a freelancer: Coder, designer, writes, translator, it's up to you. They're great as work experiences for your CV, too.
• Write reviews: Some websites will pay you to review various products, like songs (SliceThePie) or apps (BestReviewApp). Again, it's quantity over quality here.
• Flipping: I don't know much about this one, but you basically buy things at low price to sell them at a higher one. Craigslist will be your bread and butter. This also works for things like Steam keys (G2A is the way to go).
• (If you need Steam Credit) Sell Steam Cards: Alright, this is more specific, but you may still need it. Sites like Indiegala regularly give away free games: they're not great, but most of them have cards. Once you get a good number of them, selling them on the Marketplace will let you gain enough to buy some games during sales.

I think for this to work there has to be a good marketplace. And that way people can get to know you better. I have found that some of the time if you don't have that many contacts then you are going to have some issues as well. I personally have found that selling high from low often does not work the right way. So sometimes you have to take risks and do things in other domains.
