What do you use? Paid or a Free Software?

In your everyday life does it really matter?

Do you think that having a paid software for you PC would be much safer for yourself and your family? Do you think that having a free software offers the greatest opportunity for people who doesn't have any money?

Just asking though.

Thought of the day.

I think i prefer using free softwares you know since they are free haha but then there are some paid softwares that are really good to use and create convenience such as Photoshop that I would be willing to pay to use it

Most of people in 3rd world countries don't use paid softwares because piracy rules in those countries aren't so strict, so people there download cracked softwares

I don't have money to pay for sofwares
so I use free ones and sometimes a use cracked ones if they don't have a free version
but I will pay for those cracked softwares when I get my money

I can't afford paid softwares as i am still a student that's why cracked paid softwares are my way to go, i know that harms developpers but countries economic systems are not all the same and i wish i could contribute with something positive to support devs.

I use only free software except for one. It's not really about the software being free, but for it being open source, you can do much more with an open source software, you can program it and most of those software are scriptable, which means you can automate repeated tasks, and the results are equally professional.

Same problem here I'm a student who can't afford payed software
I mean also even workers can't afford them 100$ for a sotware is like a oyed month of working that's so bad

Most likely i use free software (for known reasons), but if i need some paid software and it's price is equal to quality of this software i buy it

I usually advise you lot of people that there is tremendous information that you can be able to find on the internet and as such you do not need to jump on every premium software out there. I tried to use the free ones as much as I can and I am only going to purchase the premium only when it becomes absolutely necessary.

It actually depends on what I aim to achieve with the software and most of the times it's not a choice when going for a paid software because there's no other way to get something done. If you can achieve what you want from a free software I don't think anyone would be willing to pay for getting the same results from a paid software. You would only pay for a software when whatever you need to do can not be done using a free software

This is usually dependent a lot on what I am trying to achieve with the both softwares. For example if what I am going to achieve is going to be done in a very short time , all I am going to save a lot of money even if I am going to use a free software then it is something that I am going to consider. If it is not going to give me the optimal quality of work and it is going to take a lot of time then I will consider just spending money in buying a paid software instead.

It depends on the software. I mean that sometimes I can find the software free of charge and does exactly what I want it to. However, sometimes there is no free software and I have to put up with that and buy one if I really need it. Sometimes you'd better avoid installing a free software because it can threaten your personal information. For example, you'd better not use free VPNs because your data will be sold so that the vpn provider will get funded.

Ultimately, it depends on your needs and budget. I know some great paid and free options for website scripts, but I would need to know more about your specific needs before making any recommendations.

I use a mix of paid and free software depending on my needs. While paid software often comes with additional features and support, free software can be robust and accessible. Safety isn't solely determined by cost; it's about using reputable sources, keeping software updated, and practicing good digital hygiene. Both options have their merits based on individual circumstances.
