From the latest interview , the ETH developer has raised his concerns about too much whales controlling big part of network chain

He says that though this situation can make the fees go higher and he is worried about this centralised system developing that can cause 51% attack

He proposed the node validation pools to be restricted to 22% share

He also proposed increasing the base transactions cost for pool owners with more than 15% share in a pool

Yeah whales had majority of the power to control the market, as the transaction fees are just cents to them compared to others who are just using the network to send small amounts, Though if the transaction fees for whales gets increase we would see lesser movements with whales or even some whales would stop moving. I see more positive in this than negative for the most part

the whales could take majority control in terns of earning interest from the coin , since they are holding large portion , increasing the fees would actually make it look unattractive for whales , because they would really not want to stake anything at the moment of time I think
