RECOV labs' goal is to contribute to resource autonomy in the vegetable oil-based consumer products sector, by building new vegetable oil value chains in Germany. They are going to implement a cross-sectoral trade concept in which biomass is sourced from locally generated food waste in industries and transformed into ingredients for the cosmetics industry to unlock new markets. This is achieved by developing green separation methods and biotechnological tools to recover valuable ingredients from the waste biomass without undermining its primary role as a food supplier.
