New rules for the federal tax credit for electric vehicles (EVs) have been released by the US Treasury Department. According to the rules, as of January 1, 2024, EVs with batteries that contain minerals and materials from China, will not be eligible for the credit. This rule is to keep away US EV market from China, it will however affects some Tesla Models, Nissan Leaf, Volkswagen ID.4, and Ford Mustang Mach-E.

The goverments are always finding laws , so that they can have more money on rely on , where ever you go , you see authorities trying to make new rules just to make sure they have more and more , this is a pretty sad situation , in which people of most countries are not even able to raise the voice at all .

This still boils down to the fact that the American government doesn't have any iota of trust in China. The exclusion of cars with battery materials sourced from China from the tax credits is to avoid any form of dependence on China which they feel China might use to manipulate a disruption in the American economy.
