If you no longer want your Instagram photos to be shared on Facebook, you can disable the option. I show you how this works on your smartphone and your computer.

iOS & Android: Disable Instagram photo sharing on Facebook

Instagram has hidden the feature to disable automatic sharing of your posts to Facebook well. Just follow these steps to not post your content to Facebook.

1. Open the Instagram app on your iOS or Android device and go to your profile at the bottom right.

2. Now tap on the menu button at the top right and select "Settings".

3. Go to the "Account" section and select "Share to other apps".

4. Tap "Facebook" at the top, you will see your linked Facebook account here. Tap on it.

5. In the "Share automatically" area, you can now determine whether stories and posts are also shared on Facebook or not.

Browser: Disable sharing Instagram photos on Facebook

Alternatively, you can also switch off the function directly in the browser.

1. Open Facebook and tap in the bottom right.

2. Scroll down, tap "Settings & Privacy", then tap "Settings".

3. Scroll down and tap "Accounts Center", then tap "Accounts & Profiles". Select your Instagram profile here.

4. Now uncheck the two options below.

5. Your Instagram posts will no longer be shared on Facebook from now.

I have tried this several times have tried it countless times without number but my Instagram app keeps stopping so I do not know what to do about it anymore please is there a way for you to help me with the Instagram app that is stopping or can I uninstall and install it again if it will stop doing that because I've tried too many options

But why should we disable the sharing of our post to Facebook. As this will also bring more awareness to the photos/posts.
For some on that has a product or links that wants to promote. It will be in disadvantages if the person disable the feature.

Thank you for the detailed information. Instagram is a complicated social media app, it's not like Facebook or Whatsapp that is a bit simplified. I wonder why someone would want to disable sharing photos to Facebook from Instagram, i think it is areally nice feature that instagram offers. It is quite simple to stop your Instagram account from sharing your photos on Facebook every time you post. You just have to open your Instagram app go to settings then click on account after that click on linked apps and turn the option for sharing photos on Facebook to off and you're done. It won't be sharing your photos anymore on Facebook after that

Thank you for this hack,it is quite informative and i will try it out and see how my experience will be as most of these features are at times updated every single yearband might just find this feature is currently not working.

mainly what i would have loved is preventing some of your content to be shared by some selected people.This is because alot of scamers just create a duplicate account and copy content from the original account owner and making them have engagements and innocent people think they are actually engaging with the original owner of the page.

This is commendable. I think the sharing is default though it can be changed as the poster explained. The very reason why this is so is because both Facebook and Instagram are owned by the same person. There was a time it is possible to share pictures on WhatsApp and Facebook as well.

I'm sorry my friend, do you know that I didn't even know that, my photos posted on Instegram, were automatically shared on my Facebook account too?
Well now that I know, and honestly I don't like sharing those images on both social networks, then now I'll proceed according to your instructions.

Here's how to disable sharing photos to Facebook from Instagram:

1. Open the Instagram app: Open the Instagram app on your phone or tablet.
2. Go to your profile: Tap the profile icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
3. Access the settings: Tap the three-line icon in the top-right corner of the screen, and select "Settings."
4. Connected accounts: Scroll down to the "Connected accounts" section and select "Facebook."
5. Disconnect Facebook: Tap "Disconnect" to stop sharing your Instagram photos to Facebook.

Once you have completed these steps, your Instagram photos will no longer be automatically shared to Facebook. You can always re-connect your Facebook account later if you change your mind.
It's worth noting that if you've previously shared Instagram photos to Facebook, they may still be visible on your Facebook profile or timeline. To remove these photos, you'll need to delete them directly from Facebook.
