PLC sometimes work in industries that harm the environment. Decisions depend on laws, market needs, and doing the right thing. Some focus on money but others now care about the planet.

Rules in many places control what companies must do. Some invest in green tech or do ecofriendly things because people and investors want that. This keep the environment safe for all.

I think that public limited companies are more suited to operate in sectors that have high environmental impact because they are able to afford expensive clean up operations that would restore back the environment and mitigate the effects of it's operations. It also has capacity to invest in research for safer alternative production methods.
