Amidst the war between Ukaranian government and Russian government, the government of Ukraine government has been receiving donations in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT which amount to $20M so far. The government of Ukraine now accept Polkadot cryptocurrency payments. This development made Gavin Wood, the founder of Polkadot, announcing that he would donate $5 million.

hopes the funds is really able to support them during the war times , because I saw some information about how the Ukrainian soldier are really defeating the Russia soldiers for now , basically in some regions and I think all we need is still peace , because war Is going to cause more issues

very true more donors would surely come , because it's specifically what the government needs now ,since the NATO can't come to their aid as they are not part of the NATO organization , donation is the only aid they could render ,like trucks and others to fight the war

I believe if the war is brought to end as soon as possible they will be able to use most of these donations received on other relevant things that will help the country to recover back from the losses they've invited and also the effect of pandemic. The donations are quite significant.

Cool and they should accept any donations whatever the form of crypto currency it is as long as it can help and has a value. As they really need it for their people that suffers right now. I hope this war ends peacefully it affects way too many people and prices of things are a mess

I think initially they were being selective but as the war continues and there is need for them to accept donations of different kinds they might by accepting all cryptocurrency coins that are listed in most popular exchange platforms. I believe after the war Ukraine is gone to goes or legalize the use of Bitcoin in big time.

That is an awesome move by Ukraine to accept donations through cryptocurrencies. It shows that they are a country that fully understands that cryptocurrencies are a great asset and so they are promoting their use. I am really sad about the war but it is a blessing in disguise for those who like using cryptocurrencies. I am sure that huge transactions will go on now. You can see how Polkadot was accepted and the first donation was so high.

It is also an opportunity for cryptocurrency project developers to make ukrainians adopt the use of their coins which was the strategy used by polkadot developers because if they are fully back from the unfortunate situation and he decided to keen to cryptocurrencies they will definitely give upper hand to polkadot and few other coins that they receive donations from.
