I know HTML and I'm learning CSS for web development. I hope to create a website with HTML and CSS. I'm using notepad++. Any websites you recommend to learn CSS?

HTML is now outdated to learn, but if you want to learn, then try youtube video learning.

Why is it oudated? What other languages would you recommend learning instead of HTML? Thanks for the tip on how to learn HTML/CSS, I will check a few tutorials out on YouTube.

I think w3scholls and some other similar type of the website are good enough for anyone to learn HTML and CSS. You can see that depending on how you wish to learn. I suggest making use of the project on the html and css and then start learning. That should give you some ideas as well. I suggest also checking out envato, lynda and the pluralsight. Those are some good places to start with.

Are there any online websites that you can either learn to code or can code and run the script on? Please give me some recommendations as I am looking to code! Thank you

I don't think HTML is outdated because it is the basic structure of any kinds of website that you are going to create whether you are using different kinds of web scripting/programming language. You cannot display properly without the use of HTML. As far as I know there's no alternative yet for HTML in developing a website. If there is already, please let me know.

Learning web development is faster and easier through watching tutorial videos compared to reading from websites. But websites that teaches web programming is really a big help because they have the present the lessons in order and they provide the definitions and functions of each element that you want to learn in programming.

HTML and CSS will only allow you to create static website. You need to learn web scripting/programming language such as javascript, php, python, ruby, C#, and other available scripting/programming.

After learning HTML and CSS, learn javascript or any other javascript libraries/frameworks like jquery, angularjs, or nodejs. Then PHP or Python for accessing the database.

You also need to learn mysql, an opensource database application that is widely used for developing websites.

HTML 5 seems to be the base of every rendered paage. So I don't know why people say HTMlL is outdated. it is what our code compiles into in browser. along with javascript and css.and it can be seriously good ot run the code from the javascrpit supported browser too. so learning from codecademy and w3 school. this can be surely a good option. so make sure to also check out the youtube channels if possible. that can be surely be useful as well.

You are absolutely right! I too don't know why some people are saying HTML is outdated..... Without HTML no websites will be appeared to us.

Absolutely correct! There are some people that considers HTML as programming/scripting language that's why they have a thought there's an alternative for it and could just learn php, javascript, python or other programming/scripting language. HTML is the foundation of all websites that has been created. And until these days, there's no alternative for HTML to use. That's why for newbie in web development it is recommended to always start with HTML before learning other web development technology.

I personally recommend codecademy.com
And take w3schools as a reference website. I'm a web designer.

Yup, the learning processes is fast and easy if you watch training videos. Just by reading, it will take more time. but of course you need to learn also the definitions and functions of the elements so that you will know what could be used to create your website.
