Seafood is one of the most hottest selling food items in many different parts of the world. Seafood is also quite expensive as well. This is because it is quite risky to catch animals from sea. Having said that, seafood might be much more expensive in many landlocked countries. This is because people in those countries may rely on imports of seafood. I live in a country which is not landlocked at all, but still seafood is one of the most expensive items in here! So, how do you start such kind of business? Fish can truly be imported and has most eaters compare to other sea foods. There are limited number of people that eat snails, pawn and even crayfish which are all seafoods. Yeah, people do eat snails and pawn as seafood but i think the popular one is the fish that's why i was talking about it. I live in a coastal city and there is a lost of opportunities for many people to venture in this business. We also export many fishes to other countries in the world as well. The local markets consist of fishermen and seller who purchase at a wholesale rate and sell them in different parts of the city.

I think seafood are chosen by status sometimes. In my country for instance, there are some seafoods that are only patronised by the rich basically because they are costly. Prawn for instance is exclusively eaten by the rich.

When you open a seafood business, i think it is easy because i think out there there are se muuch people that like to eats seafood. It could be opening a seafood restaurant or even selling a frozen seafood business, it is an easy business to do. But it is not as easy as it is looks like. If you opening a seafood restaurant, you need to found a good chef that indeed an expert in cooking seafood, because seafood is not a type of food that is easy to cook. If you want to opens a profitable seafood business, you need to research for how expensive or how cheap you can sell it out there. If you found a fisherman that sell a good price of seafood, dont missed it, your seafood business will be profitable

Actually, i think you must consider your location before thinking to run this type of business. Most sedfood businesses are profitable but if you established it at the wrong location , it will never be successful.

Hmm, sometimes we need to always consider the location of it, it is not all business that can equally earn you much profit at the end. There should always be a believe and hope when to run any business of our choice.

It depends on whether you want to be the retailer or supplier. If you don't have enough cash, you can outsource it and supply to restaurants, frozen foods eatery etc. You can supply to hotels and motels that don't have chance to outsource. I think supplying seafood is less costly to start.
