Today i got Mail from YouTube Creators.
According to that Mail they were changing their Privacy Policy again. I Know how much tough is year 2017 for YouTubers.

In the Mail they noticed the changes about the Monetization. If you have less than 4,000 Hours Watched Time in the past 12 Months you are not eligible for Monetization. OR if you have less than 1,000 Subs also you are not eligible for Monetization. In that case your will Lose your access to all Monetization tools and Features on 20.02.2018.

Means you need minimum 1,000 Subs and 4,000 Hours Watched Time to be eligible for Monetization.

Here is a Detailed Article written by YouTube Team about this Policies = https://youtube-creators.googleblog.com/2018/01/additional-changes-to-youtube-partner.html

They are always changing there policies. I remember when there were no requirments and you could monetize your channel and earn cash. As soon as youtube started the new terms and conditions, this stopped me earning my income through Adsense.

This is really bad. And this means building more subscribers and more watch time seems to be necessity now. I wonder how that is going to help many creators. as we tend to have that issue with the videos any way.

That is one fundamental thing with any site the more they have traffic or subscribers they change their rules though sometime it for sustainance of the platforms

This is somewhere Good and Bad also.
As in end quarter of 2016 there are so many fake Youtubers that making lot's of money by publishing fake videos. So the ADVERTISERS that pays YouTube to give their ADS on the Videos are getting angry, they thinking that their ADS are not display on correct spot where they want. So in 2017 YouTube come with the Policy of minimum 10,000 views on Channel to be eligible for Monetization. For keeping up their ADVERTISERS.
But this is not enough so again YouTube came with new Policy.

The thing is that last algorithm made update that the youtube is left wing compliant. And now this one means the views to other channels in low number will lead to issues. so this is indeed a bad idea. I wonder where they are going with this.

Maintaining 1000 subscribers and 4000 Watched time is a possibility but you need to work honestly. I see many Youtubers try to cheat YouTube by getting Fake Subscribers and Upload Videos with Misleading Titles which not ethical and not acceptable.

I think it's reasonable that they have such type of the limits. The reason being there are many creators who are just stealing content of other creators and making channels. And that needs to stop as well. So new policies definitely limit the copycat thingy that is going on. And also limit the trash channels that affect the youtube platform. I hope such limitations help out with the channels and also the platform itself.

you just have to keep up with them , they are getting stricter year by year, but there is literally nothing to do, as there is no other platform that's so great like it, but look at the good side, they are improving as well, more security and more modern features .

I noticed that this post dates 2018 , and am curious to know if this is still the present policy of youtube or whether it has been changed

As YouTube grows, there is surely going to be modifications to their policies and to be honest the guidelines will become stricter and steeper since they now have more than enough people on their list.
they have been modifying their policies from time to time though, stuffs with regards to monetization have been stricter , and also with copyrights have gotten stricter

I think these measures are aimed at improving the quality of content seen on YouTube and also in striking out copyright violators .

You are right and I think it will even get stricter than it is considering how keen the competition on that platform is now. I think it will ensure that only those with good content will stand the test of time.

no one can really say what a "good content" is to an extent, as a good content to you might not be good content to others, I've seen subpar contents on youtube but are still popular to many

The 'good' in the 'good content' is determined by the viewers. What feels insanely good to me truly may not appeal to someone else just as you said. I still feel what you have to offer should matter to YouTube.

it's funny how the monetization requirements are still the same since 2018, i mean they should take on consideration that 4000 hours of views aren't an easy thing at all

Of course this is true , however there are contents that are just too good to an extent that no one will hate it . good product sells it self .

making good content doesn't really mean you will get views, as people nowadays are more into silly stuff than serious ones, but it's still worth it as long as you are a clean youtuber
