Each of them has its own pros and cons, undervolting saves you power consumption and increases the lifespan of the GPU but the performance decreases too, but overclocking does the opposite .
What do you recommend ?

If you're confident that your hardware will last then you can overclock to an extent otherwise undervolt it if you're just trying out mining and still don't know much about its risks

the issue is that when you are overclocking, you are reducing the lifespan and you will be in need of decent coolers because the temperatures will rise again, buying coolers will cost you money too

For more experienced users and for those with more capital, overclocking maybe is not that expensive. I don't tinker with my PC tho so I don't undervolt nor overclock mine.

overclocking costs nothing, that's just getting extra performance from your dedicated GPU by increasing the memory and the core clocks from the settings

No, I mean overclocking does reduce your hardware lifespan and maybe you even need to buy liquid cooler to better control the temperature. That's why I said more expensive to overclock your PC.
you don't need to do liquid cooling if the thermal paste is well replaced and as well as you don't overclock that much, there are limits in the core and memory clocks

Use an liquid metal paste , you cant undervolt gpu to much bcs it will bsod (crash) pc
well, to reduce the mining costs, i'm pretty sure a miner won't buy a lot of liquid coolers, because he'll really need a lot of them since he has a lot of GPU's, air coolers are fine if you have a knowledge about overcloking
