Have you tried withdrawing money from Paypal in excess of your balance? Earlier this year, I made that mistake. Maybe I was sleepy that my withdrawn amount exceeded my balance by 3,000 pesos which is about $60. When I was asked for the confirmation, I did not notice the mention of my credit card. What happened was that I got the money from my credit card and my Paypal balance was untouched.

What country you are in? I think there's an option with auto-withdrawal. You have to link your bank account in order to do that. But since not all people has bank accounts, (esp me). I just use external wallets that can provide mastercard online card. Use for online transactions.

Oh that sounds terrible! My advice is just to be careful and just withdraw the money in your account which you have to your bank account and then you will be safe!

well that would always be the case whenever you withdraw more than your balance the credit card linked to your paypal will be the source where paypal will deduct from, unless you are trying to purchase and the amount of purchase is more than your balance still they will deduct from your credit card for the amount needed plus the available balance you have.

In India this can never happen because Paypal is giving free autowithdrawal. However if anyone have to use Paypal for any type of purchase, then they have to verify credit/debit card. If you use credit/debit card with paypal, then such p[roblem can happen, but better do not use it, and then it would be more safe.

Hello sorry to heard that maybe you have a lot of online jobs so your sleepy and not noticed that! Good thing that your credit card not compromise! i wonder how much money you have in paypal?

I have always thought withdrawing an amount exceeding the PayPal balance will result to a negative. Now I know the extra money will come from the linked card or bank account.

Never thought about that, just thought it Wil till u that u exceeded the limits only but never thought it will neglect PayPal cash and goes directly to us credit card, must be open wide eyes with paypal

That is the more reason while one needs to always check your balance before making transaction on PayPal such that you can prevent excess spending

U would better use a agent to withdraw your earning to ur current country cash, as withdraw in all cases will cost u more than it, may be little risky but u will save more

Yes it happened to me before. Tried to order something from a webshop, paypal secretly switched payment method from balance to bank account. That was a reason for me to unlink the account.

Woops read the post wrong.

Yes, it is possible. I've heard stories of people getting into Debt and there balance going into negative figures. That's when you owe PayPal money. Only pay clients what you can afford and withdraw to your bank what you actually have

No we cannot withdraw any amount over our Paypal balance and its possible only with the Credit cards. We can expect this facility with Paypal soon as well.

Here in the Philippines, the best ways to withdraw your paypal earning is through gcash. They do not charge any fee and the minimum withdrawal is 50PHP(1$), and ypu will receive it instantly after withdrawing.

I just started using PayPal,I never knew about this.i just read there's a rule like this withdrawing more than what you have will be taken from your card. I hope I don't make this mistake someday.
