Ah, the rise of automation. Several years back before corona hits us all in the face, there was this ongoing fear about how a lot of jobs will be handled by robots instead of humans, endangering those low-skill workers' livehood. What's your opinion on this? Have you prepared yourself for the eventual replacement by automation?

I don't think so I still see human inputs still highly needed even with all the automation in place. I'm sure humans will still survive in the labor market. I'm preparing myself it will just to transfer my skills to where it will highly needed

Well, that's impossible because you can't program and script the common sense that the human has in a machine and make it behave like a real human

It's a possibility and it will directly affect the jobs. We can expect only the programmers and IT experts to survive at that time because of their skills and ability to program those Robots. Hoping and wishing to not experience that advanced age since it will be lethal for the society since these programmable Robots can be misguided and misused very easily.
while I do agree to this, I myself an an IT graduate, and also one of the most in demand job nows are IT people sooo, yeah this might really happen in the future

Yeah it is possible. There will be one or the other day , most of them will be in situation of unemployment due to the robots and Artificial Intelligence. But remember machines can't handle unexpected situations , we need people at that time who can use his brain to solve the problem smartly. Machines don't have brain

This has been my thoughts, there's no way the robot can totally replaced humans because I know they are humans that their IQ are above normal and can function much more than any robot or automation

This is already a clear fact and is already happening present day. Some jobs have already been taken over by robots such as pilots who use to carry camera men ti film a high angle of an event, show or a movie. Now just with a 200$ drone you can do all that with your good camera without hiring anybody. There are sections where those bots have taken over and after some time it'll be very bad
Yup . Though you have to say this is to simplify the means of getting those prized shots up in the air, and also drones are really useful for photo enthusiasts

Actually with proper AI system where that AI learns from its surroundings . It's possible that the AI will behave like a human . Though common sense is hard to replicate in robots as robots don't have emotions affecting their decisions

If we think about what computers were like 50 years ago, then we think what might they be like in 50 years time....

Still, I think it is a long way off that AI will be able to behave totally like humans, but I don't think it is impossible.

I think a lot of jobs are better be done without emotions. Imagine if you're in bad mood and that affects your job in a negative way. Robots don't have feelings, so they don't get affected by that.

Automation is a big threat for those who are 'low-skilled' workers.

Not exactly right, some robots are capable of assembling a complicated machinery like, a car. And there's a robot that do better medical diagnosis than humans do, while the other medical bots are able to perform surgery with astounding precision.

I have mentioned "low-skilled" workers and you've set an example which is requiring great technical skills or for highly-skilled workers.

Not all human jobs can be done with robots in the near future. Human input is still the main needs in terms of labor. Automation is a big threat for those who are 'low-skilled' workers.
well yeah, we can't really replace psychologists with robots as they deal with human thinking common sense and emotions, doubt robots can do that

Agreed. It is worrying that the world may soon be even more unequal than it is now. Just a few people could easily end up with an even bigger share of the world's money as the low skilled workers get replaced by robots.

Also we can't replace everything with robots. Like for any industry , there is a separate department for security and people are hired to handle unexpected situations , that time robots can help as they don't have brains. They just work under certain commands only , not outise those commands.

Still, a lot of jobs will inevitably vanish and this is worrying, especially when considering a lot of people still can't afford higher education.

With how the world is changing i have started to believe that in the future robots and automated machines is more likely to take over alot of jobs.
