The trend is nowadays people spend on time on facebook, instagram, twitter and other social medias.

Even if I browse websites it is only for news sites.

And then if I need to check out info guidance like how to fix my hanging android phone, then it is more likely that i would go to youtube and watch the step-by-step instructions

And also V-logs are more relevant than reading travel blogs with photos.

What do you guys think?

Websites will never be irrelevant as long as the interent is relevant.

I don't believe that blogs and websites will ever be irrelevant one day , especially now that blogs and websites are monetized.
Moreover most people prefer reading to watching videos .

The use of blogs is really going down this days because of the availability of youtube, vlogs and social media sites. However, I don't think they will be irrelevant. People still love reading blogs. Personally, I love reading self improvement blogs.

I personally think websites and blogs are here to stay, it's going to take a revolution to make them irrelevant. They have become a very important core of the modern information transmission.

Can't you see that most sites now have app version , for instance most people don't go to block chain website they just download the blockchain wallet and do everything.

Yes, you are quite right. I keep reading this thread and I am astonished that almost everyone seems to think websites and blogs will always be relevant. Times change :)

Sure, people like to read blogs, 20 years ago people read newspapers, but print media is now dying a slow death - apps will replace websites, then something else will replaces apps and something else will then replace that - that's how things work!

I think blogs and the digital space, in general, are particularly relevant in the current situation as far as the pandemic is concerned. I believe blogs are here to stay for a while longer than many people may have thought! Local newspapers here are cutting right back on print content and migrating their papers to the online space.

i do agree, except about the newspapers part, these are still being sold a lot, especially that a lot of people still don't prefer internet, and since newspapers are always up-to-date and has less fake news than in internet

I actually agree on the newspaper bit too. Even the papers here that are migrating their content to online platforms are not phasing out the print aspect altogether. They still sell the hard copies but are scaling back. The good thing about the situation here's that we know all the legitimate media houses we can trust, so all the sources that churn out fake news stand out like a sore thumb.

The Newspaper companies are shuffling between online and offline, the old people are used to reading newspaper offline and they have not change that mindset so newspaper still trends while the young chaps prefer online access to news.

and in my country, in 2013, a huge newspapers company switched to youtube, it's popular here and has like 3 million subscribers, the bad thing is that they focus on buzz a lot, which i hate

Blogs and websites can never be replaced by social media and YouTube. Consider research work for instance, one cannot get relevant information elsewhere other than the website. Even most information posted on the social media are few extracts from the websites and blogs.

In my opinion, I do not think that blogs and websites will become irrelevant one day. I try to search for information from these sources thus I find them useful and I know there are millions others like me. It is interesting that even with e-books available, there are still people that buy physical books. Again I am one of them. We could say that maybe there will be more people preferring to use social media than those going through websites and blogs. Despite the numbers, I believe that websites and blogs will still remain relevant for years to come.

Wow, that's very interesting! I've never known publications to go down the YouTube route. 3 million subscribers is certainly not a figure to be sniffed at. I wonder if their audience expanded when they switched to YouTube?

everyone hates their youtube channel, it's just discussing silly topics and spreading crap unfortunately, the quality of their news dropped a lot when they switched to online, because they know that adsense is more profiteable, they are uploading anything

Oh, really?! That's such a shame! They could have capitalised on the fact that they have a 3-million strong following and continued to produce high-quality but accurate content.

Maintaining a blog is tricky. A good blog is not a blog that provides super complicated articles that nobody can understand. Blogs are more intended as a means to convey our thoughts as simply as possible to readers. So, the language doesn't need to be too formal like a newspaper or magazine.

Of course not.
See,now everyone watch videos or try social media to try or learning new things
But you know there a kick in the blogs
Its like a book
Why We read books.?
The articles is the little form of books
