The trend is nowadays people spend on time on facebook, instagram, twitter and other social medias.

Even if I browse websites it is only for news sites.

And then if I need to check out info guidance like how to fix my hanging android phone, then it is more likely that i would go to youtube and watch the step-by-step instructions

And also V-logs are more relevant than reading travel blogs with photos.

What do you guys think?

Since almost everything has turn online, blogs and website are naturally the online physical presence of almost everything so that is not changing any time soon.

I don't think websites will become irrelevant but I do think blogs will one day become irrelevant.

Interesting, I wonder why you think that? Where I live (China) websites are now almost irrelevant as people and companies almost exclusively use wechat. Blogs however are still fairly common.

I think you're wrong. Many people now spend a lot of their time on social networks such as Facebook and Instagram, but in addition, if they need some information, they use Google or any other search engine. In addition, now any website is literally fighting to have more visitors. Any website owner tries to find the most relevant Blog Topics to make their website more viewed and popular. Instagram and Facebook are already very popular platforms that simply do not need to fight for visitors.

I think companies always need to fight - even when they are the biggest. Companies can become irrelevant surprisingly quickly. I know when I was young it seemed impossible that anyone would ever dethrone Microsoft as the most important tech company - but it happened. Facebook could easily go the same way.

Thats right, peoples are now leaning toward learning or knowing from videos or from social media but the end of the day we all must need to go to blogs. Some things are only can to in blogs or forums. These essential needs are only can do in blogs or forums.

It may seem like websites are becoming obsolete as a result of social media explosion but websites and blogs will always be relevant as long as the Internet is up and running because it is the 'physical office/shop' of any serious business or organizatio.

Sure, different social media and different forms of media might come in and be more relevant, but websites and blogs won't really become irrelevant and will just take new forms, like video blogging or smarter, sleeker websites with PWA capabilities.

I strongly believe that blogs and sites have largely already been replaced by platforms such as instagram / facebook / twitter / youtube.
Now people no longer follow people's blogs they follow vlogs on youtube and so on.

I don't think it's possible to stay out of internet and websites. Except the fellow has been a primitive fellow for a very long time of his life. The life will be boring itself.

The question was websites and blogs, not the internet. The internet will be around for a very, very long time, quite possibly forever as the internet is simply the idea of a connected net. Improvements and changes will be made, but the idea will remain.

Websites and blogs are quite a different thing - at some point things will change - indeed they are doing already, APPs are far more widely used than webpages are in many countries already.

It can't be possible there are always people who like to read interesting content and both video marketing and rich content have own value and both are here to stay so I will say nothing will become irrelevant maybe less popular

I certainly do agree with you

I'm inclined to agree with you, so maybe it's a geographical thing. I actually feel there's more organic traffic flowing into my blog since COVID hit - not to say I'm definitively attributing that to COVID. But basically, I believe people here are still into reading blogs and increasingly so.

COVID quite likely has had an impact. It has changed people's routines, and in general people have more time alone, and more time online ... it is quite likely that people send more time browsing blogs than they used to. I know my time online has increased over the last year!

So may be niche and specific topics' blogs would see cycles of Interests and Dis-Interests, i.e peaks and troughs.
Yet one can still make it good with Blogs- though one needs patience and persistence.

You're absolutely right about the need for patience and persistence! Our blog is in its 7th year and needs to be monetised because we are spending way too much out of our pockets to keep it moving. But still, I'm not just about to give up on it, mainly because of the rave reviews we receive from our readers and followers.

It is really good that you are concentrating on creating a great product more than earning money fast. But 7 years is a long time to run a blog without creating an income from it - I don't think I would have the patience to do that, but it may well pay off in the long-term.

its very possible for blogs and websites to lose their values one day because social media platforms are making it readily easy to access information as soon as possible making blogs to convince people to visit their sites which is tasking and might not give the required results

I wish you all the best. May be you would now see some good returns coming in for your blog.

Aww thanks so much - I truly appreciate it? I'm happy to report that while it's proving to be a bit pricey, the Facebook ads we've been running lately are really helping to drive traffic to the page. We've also been lucky to have received organic content that is also very helpful as far as traffic is concerned.
