I have been looking for a business opportunity. I have around 1000 bucks with me now. I decided to open a clothing shop and will invest all the money there. Though I am in doubt whether to open it in rural or urban area. My friend is suggesting to open that in urban area as there will be more potential customers. What do you think about this? Should I go with my plan or open business as friend suggested.?

Depends on the requirement of the people. In our area, expensive clothes are also looked after by the shopkeepers, and they are making good profits out of it. Specially the Margin remains high in expensive clothes.

Yes I agree that are one area will have more opportunities, but the cost of starting a business there will be higher than the rural areas. But having 1000 dollars as capital should not make any problem there.

The only challenge the trader would have is if customers buy on credit i.e. to give them clothing while they pay when they have the cash. The trader should also get quality stuff and the store must also be sited in a busy area so as to reach out to more customers

Yes I think 1000 is very sufficient. Specially for clothing business there is not so much fund is required. Also it depends upon area to area as the price of cloth is not same everywhere.

You are right. The quality to be selling may depend on the area people requirements and I'm not saying quality must not be selling but it should be a affordable ones. but no matter how, you can not compare a Urban area with rural area.

There are two types of cloth shop. The inexpensive once and the expensive ones. Expensive cloth store will provide you the branded clothes, so you can't say that the branded cloth stores don't have any customers at all. Though I think that rural area we should go with in expensive clothes store.

Yes, the clothes that rural area will go for most is inexpensive clothes because it's rare to see a rich man/bigman that can afford a expensive items in rural area and if you are selling a expensive clothes in rural area, how will you make a good sell.

I think starting a cloth business in an urban area is more preferrable. That is where there is a higher market than in the rural area. Moreover, you can easily promote the business online and offer delivery services, which is better in the urban area due to the good roads.

In my country it is. even half of it will probably be enough for a small clothing store. But sellers are just posting their items on social media and people bids for it.

Well, 1000$ enough for clothing business in rural area in my country! Myself from rural I had friend doing cloth business worth below $1000 it's up to medium,, there were many clothing business we're successful running so far!

$1000 is enough for rural area in my country to start a clothes business. Because there won't be a much money to spend for rent a shop.

It actually depends on the type of clothing business one wishes to start, I know that starting a clothing line would require more capital than $1000

I think you should go with your own plan and start your business in rural areas . In rural area there is a high demand of clothing resellers because of the fact they normaly do'nt have any malls and wholesales so this could work in advantage and can make good profit .$1000 is more than enough to start a clothing business in rural areas
