I don't think search engines prefer some domain extensions over other. In fact search engines regard all domains same irrespective of extension. The ranking factors are more related to Domain Authority and Domain Age. Ranking of website is also depended on the keywords used. registration fees for the domain is depended on the domain registrar.

I think that this is just dew to some popularity, as mostly dot com is the best, dot org is lesser and so on, also some sites give you easy at first then when u have to renew they taje advantage of this and increase the price

.tk, .ga, and some free website domains is usually used by the bad guys to be a spamming and scamming method. Even some paid website domain like .xyz is not too popular if you want to make a legitimate web.

The advantage of .com domain are from my point of view almost inexistant since we have search engine and most of the people know how to use it, before that, more the website was simple, more it was valuable: because, well, you can go on a website only if you know is name without mistake...

Now it's for me an artificial domination, without real meaning except the psychological one. But, it's not a bad idea to go for .com when you want to make a website for selling stuff. But if you want to speak about boat why not choose the more convenient "flag" like in real life?

Another reason to avoid the Free Domains if you want start a serious Projet/Website : they can Simply close it anytime they want !
I didnt make any Virus/Adult/Scam or any bad or Illegal things in my website , but they close it , Check the picture bellow from my Gmail account .

Whenever you use something for free, they can close it anytime. Those free hostings or domains only serve for learning or testing, not for long term projects. Whenever provider detects bigger traffic, your site will be close.

I understand some domain name is more expensive due to the keyword or brand, but what about the domain extension? I don't understand why .com is cheaper than .com.my (with the Internet country code). I always think .com is more popular or highly demanded, but it seems like its price is quite reasonable as well and cheaper than some other domain extension.

Bro .com domains are High quality and Universally registered domains for that it costs more and also helps in grow your websites rank, while others are not help you in ranking and not universally registered so, those are cheap

The price of a domain depends on the demand. If the domain name is promising and there is a demand for it a great price goes up. This is a great topic it will be good if you read the literature on SEO optimization. Also if the domain is searched quickly and is rated this is also one of the criteria which increases the price

So we have to be made to understand that domain names have a key role for our website to attract traffic.Premium dormains will get you alot of organic traffic but ordinary one will serve a purpose aswel but lesser than the premium ones hence the reason they are price are perged higher.

I'm not really sure of what your saying, but I think it might be some geographical area or popularity. So whichever way I think you should go for the one that suit you.
