Which is easy to design? Self host or hosted WordPress?

I am curious to know which website is best when it comes to designing between self hosted WordPress and hosted version. I know self hosted allows you to access lots of hidden features as opposed to the hosted version. If you are to design, which option is better than the other?

When it comes to designing, it depends on the website builder. If your concern mainly is design, then choose Wordpress.

I think it really depends on what you're going to use your blog for. If you're just getting started it may be better to use Wordpress.com (the hosted version) but if you decide to expand and continue the blog I'd recommend you to use Wordpress.org (the self-hosted version). It's much cheaper and you can also customize a lot of stuff that is not possible with Wordpress.com.

However, keep in mind that increased freedom also comes with more responsibility. Since you own your website, you're responsible for the management and maintenance. This includes security where you'll have to protect yourself against people who seek to do harmful stuff to you or your site.

If you want to use Wordpress to e.g. create templates, I'd personally go with Wordpress.org and then hosting it locally using a program like XAMPP.
