I am thinking about venturing into passive online income opportunities, and I firmly believe that these two are the best. Of course, having both will let you reap the maximum benefits. However, if you are just starting out, you have to select one. Which one do you guys think is easier between the two? Thinking about long-term, which one do you think may yield more earning potential in the future?

All comments, suggestions, reactions, and inputs are all welcome. I thank you in advance.

Thanks for the input. How much does it cost a month to maintain a blog? Let's say it is powered by WordPress.
I am currently paying $5 per month for my website (.com domain)
Alternatively you can use a free host like Webs.com or Wix.com
Making Videos is much more powerful and effective in my opinion but you need to do it right.
If you have a blog you can always embed videos (with the permission of the creator or ones that don't have copyrights) that supports your content.

Thanks for the input. Do you also have to renew your domain annually? That comes with a price as well. I'm currently researching at the moment, and I learned that it's cheaper to maintain a YouTube channel. You do not have to pay for hosting, and you don't have to pay the premium WordPress plan ($10) to have the option of monetizing your site.

But, the good thing about learning WordPress is you will gain a lot of experience regarding how it's done. And when you become an expert in it, you can accept freelance jobs for other people who have WordPress sites too. And that's extra income as well. However, that is not passive anymore.

I am in a dilemma right now, and I am utterly trying to figure out where to start.

I encourage you to just start anywhere! Don't be afraid to make mistakes and fail in between because that is just part of the journey. Don't be afraid to take risks (reasonable or calculated risks if possible).

Thanks for the encouragement. I will start somewhere soon, as you said, do not be afraid to take CALCULATED risks. I am still in the process of CALCULATION. I'll get there in time. It's always best to have a plan.

Failing to plan is planning to fail :D
That's why vision is important along with daily goals that need to be reached to get you closer toward your vision or final picture you have in mind.

Hello,
Im thinking to start blogging, maybe with free method.
Im register on Wealthy Affiliate and wanna start it there.
As Im newbie on blogging, I wanna ask something to you guys which are blogger or not.
What is the first post you wrote on your blog?
Maybe my niche will be make money online:Woot:
Any opinion is welcome.
Thank you.

Hey man, I am on the same page as you are and is between starting a blog or a YouTube channel. A money-making niche is an excellent idea since almost everyone would love to earn money especially online.

Regarding your question, my first blog post was about Cloud Computing (I do not own the site though), but I got paid for it. :)

Ugh, YouTube. They've stripped away the revenue streams from the people who make the content that keep it alive. If you like making videos, I recommend LBRY - it's decentralised and millions of times easier to earn. Make good content and reap great rewards. There's even a way of synchronising an already existing YouTube channel to LBRY - check it out here.
If, however, you don't want to do LBRY, I'd probably do a blog, because it's a little easier to maintain quality that way, and easier to monetise than YouTube.

According to me start a blog because youtube is a third party platform if you create a channel think after good standing channel with more then 1 lakh subscriber and in case youtube can suspend any account without prior notice is the badest thing is youtube but blog remains forever.

I have now decided and concluded that I would put up a website, with a twist. It will not be for blogging, but instead, I will upload videos on it. It's complicated, but I think it's possible. If ever it is ready to be monetized I will come back here and study again.

Thanks for all the input guys. Appreciate it.

Do not unsubscribe with any plan, start your invest with whatever you afford to loss; so if things not workout with wordpress, this amount invested is 100% for that plan; and you will know only after plan is over.

Passive income is the issue here and it could be done in both, YouTube and Blogging. In either of the two could be productive or could have a good income depending on its exposure, organic traffic.

As a newbie, you couldn't guarantee to a good income. To deal with YouTube, are your videos coping with the trend? In blogging, is your niche or field of business is demanding? It doesn't matter you're using a free or paid domain for your website.

Thanks for the reply. No, no, what I mean is let's say after a year I decided to stop publishing the site, is it easy to unsubscribe to the plan?

Thanks for the reply. I am well aware of that. I know these things take time. I am giving myself a year or maybe two to drive organic traffic to the site, then monetize, all fingers crossed. I am planning to start in September, so that gives me more or less five weeks to prepare.

Five weeks to prepare are more than sufficient. I know probably you've already started. It takes the finishing touches or the promotion to social media, friends, associates, families and relatives.

Good luck!

Hey @Nocturnal Writer Thanks! Do you personally own a website too? Would you mind sharing some tips on how to be successful?
