Seems there will be another Bitcoin fork planned for Bitcoin Gold.

Yes, you read that correctly bitcoin enthusiasts might see another hard fork this October that produces another token called Bitcoin Gold. The project first announced on https://www.beermoneyforum.com/ in July was created by Jack Liao, the founder of Lightning ASIC a mining firm based out of Hong Kong and an anonymous developer named "h4x3." The forked protocol aims to change bitcoin's consensus algorithm allowing users to mine the currency with graphic processing units (GPU) among other changes. According to the development team, Bitcoin Gold will use the Equihash algorithm used by the altcoin Zcash rather than bitcoin's original SHA256.

What's your opinion on this?

Seems kinda dumb to me, but what do I know? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I sure hope they don't "fork" Bitcoin to death. Right now it is the King of the cryptocurrencies, so if it begins to be perceived as unstable then that could be bad for all cryptocurrencies.

Then again ..... maybe this could be an opportunity for an obscure altcoin to take Bitcoin's place. Being a dirty old man, I vote for Titcoin!

I hope this won't affect Bitcoin's price or the safety of transactions.If I remember well,there was another fork a couple of months ago...but back then everything was ok.Hope this time will be ok too.

Oh Good Lord ...... it appears this fork is really gonna happen!

Do a search on "Segwit2x hard fork". If anything is gonna ruin the success of Bitcoin, (and other popular cryptocurrencies), it will be all these forks, and the confusion they cause.

Maybe it's time for me to start investing in more obscure altcoins?

Most of these coins are still behind bitcoin no coin has really compete in terms of price with it, it was around $6000 3 days ago.

I think that Bitcoin Gold is a fake. I'll sell all Bitcoin Gold immediately.

I think the forks are actually healthy and signal Bitcoin's further importance and evolution. BTG is a good innovation because it shortens transaction times and fees, and you can mine it with CPU/GPU, which makes it more democratized. BTC core is always going to be valuable. Most alt coins are either a fork of another coin, or built on another coin's base network (ex., the billion or so token coins built on the Ethereum platform).

I will probably start mining Bitcoin Gold as soon as someone releases the miner software updates. I wouldn't necessarily dump money into it as a hold, hard to say what utility it has yet.

I never came accross about bitcoin gold until yesterday when i was browsing on my phone and open my google chrome app i got curious when i stuble upon a news about bitcoin gold fork what i did is that read the news about it

Since 2017, Bitcoin Gold BTCG is stil here, it is not fake, but not popular either, today after 7-8% gain, it reached 32 and a half dollar value.

This value is nothing when compared to other BTC hard forks. Last year it dropped from $168 to below $12, it may gain again if market keep raising.
