What type of webhost are you using to host your online community? Managed, VPS, Shared, Cloud, or Reseller, Dedicated, or Self Service?

I don't have a community site now. So, I am using free blogger hosting. But thinking to buy a new domain name and cloud hosting for a new blog. I am planning to buy domain name 1st of February. Now working on funds to run the new blog with some friends, not alone.

I am hosted on hawkhost. And it seems to be working good for me so far. And some of the time they can add real good value too. I think people have to be understanding on the sharedhosting and the vps hosting. Because each of them are a bit different.

I think dedicated hosting is the best since one has its blog or site on a distinct server and ofcourse this means no sharing of its hardware or software with any other. This will give one better uptime and good performance even with very huge traffic to a site or activities one can be sure of pulling through efectively.

There are many web hosting plans online,so that might be tough to make the right choose. Before deciding which hosting to choose, take in consideration the following things, which are important at choosing hosting:bandwidth,GB,DNS ETC.

It really depends on what your budget is.

I own about 25 domains and host 5 domains for other people, so I actually use a reseller hosting plan that has 50 GB storage, unlimited bandwidth and uses Cpanel, which costs me around $15 per month

If you're running only one domain odds are you don't need something like this, however, if it's your bread and butter community site than maybe you want to invest in a higher priced, non-shared hosting plan. Just know that dedicated hosting is going to cost you much more than shared or VPS hosting. Me personally I have no issues with shared hosting and I have a excellent host that meets all my needs.

So my recommendation...shared hosting with a good host that will cost you about $5 per month. Once you get your community up and running, they can transfer it seamlessly to a higher plan or dedicated server when the time is needed.

I am hosted with Hawkhost, and I am on shared hosting sites. Currently my hosting limits are not reached so I am far from the VPS requirements. I may consider upgrading to say like 1GB or 2GB VPS host would be eventually something ideal for me. I may consider going to digitalocean or maybe OVH?

I use me own little SBC - a Tinkerboard, running Armbian (without desktop), nginx and a few python and nodejs programs behind nginx's reverse proxy. It's really useful being able to physically get to my hardware when I want to, and plus I spend less each month - I just pay for electricity and internet, which I already have (in the UK, broadband cannot have data caps so I don't pay more if I use more internet).

I am using guranntor site to host my site for now , till I have more funds to buy a vps hosting but currently it's still shared hosting i will check more hosting to see for the best

I'm using cyberghost currently and I have all I want and need in them. They are very affordable but most of all very reliable. The give u peace of mind with their service

Nowadays I selfhost everything that's dynamic, and for static I use Netlify. Netlify is extremely powerful for static websites and super easy to set up. Then I usually shove cloudflare in front of it to speed it up a little and provide some protection.
Hope the era of decentralized hosting will soon come. Add that with blockchain-based domain name system and I'm set to bank hard.
IPFS is very exciting to me, but sadly I don't think it'll ever get widespread adoption - people see it as too technical. But open IPFS relays make it more accessible, so maybe we'll see a combination of normal websites linking to open IPFS nodes - that could work really well.

I don't have online community or have website but I intend to have one in future and when I do I will surely look for a host to host my website.

There are so many hosting websites you could give a try if you really willing to host a site ,but i would advice you to check more there are ones with low bandwith with and low ssd storage take note of that

I use shared because that is what my pocket can afford, but had it been there is money it would have been better to use dedicated server, and this can assist to reduce the down time rate.
