Hey everyone, huge music junkie here. One of my favorite questions to ask people is "what bands have you been listening to recently"? Which is why I'm posing the question to you guys now!

Let us know what bands have your attention currently. What genres do you appreciate? Do you prefer different kinds of music when you're studying/working? Have a spectacular group you think more people should know about? Drop a link!

I'll start by saying that I like a wide variety of music, but lately I've been on an indie/alternative binge. My go-to bands are Glass Animals and Mutemath. If you haven't heard either of them, I'd highly recommend giving them a listen. And if you're interested in hearing what I've been listening to, then check out what I've been listening to here!

I'll also go ahead and leave a Glass Animals song here for convenience:

Honestly my own thoughts - happy thoughts - keep me away from listening to music. Having said that my only interest in music - although I have a huge collection - is during Christmas time. I play carols from every singer under the sun.

On one hand, I think it's a shame that your thoughts keep you away from listening to music, as I think the two go incredibly well hand-in-hand with one another, but at the same time, I think having time to yourself and your thoughts is important.

I have a playlist saved that consists entirely of the sounds of rain. I think it's incredibly soothing, and is what I use for "thinking sounds" and for meditation.

There is yet another reason. I hear bird chirps throughout the day here. I have a garden that is designed to attract birds. Different birds come with their soothing sounds. Here is a video clip of one such group of birds

I think I would pick soothing rain over the chirping birds, sorry. :p

Nice music taste TheArticulate. Never heard of Glass Animals before but they have some quality songs. I will check them out better.

I have been listening to a lot of Gorillaz songs lately. I guess everybody knows them??

They just released a new album after a six-year hiatus and I recommend it if you enjoyed their old work.

My favourite song from them is still

To each their own. Our whole garden is designed with birds in mind. We have several species that visit us with their melodious chirps. I am an early riser and that is the time I get to hear the cuckoo that sometimes presents itself with the mating call.

Gorillaz are a fantastic group! I don't know if you're from the U.S. or not, but here they're very well known. Feel Good Inc and Clint Eastwood will probably always be two of my favorite tracks by them. I haven't gotten around to listening to their new album all the way through yet, but I'm working my way there!

When it comes to Bands, I love Coldplay. Actually, I hate their songs at first but my friend was playing it over and over at work that I get used to listening to it and I like their songs now. The Scientists is the song that is my favorite from them. I now watched their concert only at YouTube though.

I am listening mostly to rock and metal, but I am fine with other genres too. I don't like the songs like Rihanna's "Work work work work work work" I find them pretty shallow and dull. But anyway, I like mostly Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Queens of the Stone Age and stuff like that.

I don't really listen to any of todays artists other than Adele, Sia , and Bruno Mars. I consider those tthree the most talented artists of today but my favorite will have to be Adele. Other than them I enjoy listening to 80s and 90s music the time when most music had a good meaning.

It depends on my mood or state of my emotions. I can listen to pop music if I want some melodic stuff. I can also listen to rock if I want to express what I feel. I also listen to R&B, soul, jazz, and others. I also love to listen to artists such as Ed Sheeran, Adele, Coldplay, etc.

It surely depends on my mood and but to be honest i am madly in love with Punjabi music and i love it so much. I will try to check your recommendations as well. But i have to say Punjabi music is very popular in Canada and Australia as well. Thanks.
