I have read recommendations by the different bloggers on the use of keywords in articles. Fact is it looks important but, how can one effectively use such keywords in the article? Body, title or meta??

You can use the keywords very often in articles,title etc to get your sites to rank higher,but the most important thing is that even if you are using the keywords often,the text must like natural,it is good not to use the same keyword over and over again,but synonyms.

There is specific amount of keyword density that can be accepted in the article. So you may want to watch out for that while writing article or while making the content. I have learned from the experience that for longer articles, google can be pretty flexible about usage of keywords. But small articles should have some limit.

You want your keyword in each tag. So lets break H tags down for a second. A site is made up with a structure and that tells google what your website is about. This generally goes as follows.

H1 Tag - You use this ONCE per page. This is generally your blog title. You want your keyword here, usually at the start of the title.
H2 Tag - These are major sections. You want your keyword here at least once.
H3 Tag - This is to support the H2 tags, so generally when you break something down into a smaller to digest section.

If you need an example you can look at my Beer Money Forum Review. It's a short article so you will get an idea of how the structure is laid out. Its simple. It has 1x H1 tag, 2x H2 tags and 2x H3 tags. You can spot them in the table of contents!

Under your H tags you will have your paragraphs. You can also sprinkle your keyword here. But the major benefit is from having them in the h tags. As for keyword density. I don't get into that as its different for every niche. Generally you want to look at who is already ranking in Google at the top and replicate what they are doing. That is what google likes and its DIFFERENT for every niche!

If you want to get technical, you can work this out using what is called TF-IDF (a free tool is Seobility) and it will tell you EXACTLY what you need to have to optimise your article.

I know so far that using vital keywords in first line of first paragraph is good. Also in last paragraph too (same keyword). If article contains more than 5 paragraphs I will suggest optionally you can use changed version of main keyword in the middle one time. And avoid keyword stuffing.

Blend keywords in content naturally. Title should have main keyword preferably in the beginning. Metatags also important so add keywords there as well. Maintain 2% to 3% keyword density in article content.

Keyword density can bring penalty so try to avoid using more than 4%. Title is very much important as search results show titles that attracts people much. Also for SEO perspective. Use a conbination of keywords in article body that you want most.

Stress on your natural interesting writing that readers will enjoy most. After writing full post very carefully replace words (edit) with keywords and read again so that appeal and quality are not lost and most importantly readers will not treat them as keywords. I am not going to talk about SEO as I read posts above, users already suggested nicely.

Hi Kattech, You should use keyword only one time in 500-600 word article but you can use other keyword comparable to your exact keyword that you are targeting.

I usually do not use more than 3 to 4 keywords per 100 words which means I fix my keywords density about 3% but sometimes 5% as long as I bound to use it. So, repeating words looks spams but depends on optimization search engines.

And the article shall be precised and more informatics in nature. 3 to 4% of the keywords should be brought into the paragraphs itself. Try to keep the paragraphs small as well because that enables the reader to read easily and your traffic will stay on your page.

Title should have main keyword. First and last paragraphs should also contain keywords. Overall density 5% maximum is a good keep. Article should be naturally attractive when someone read it.

That is a great guide to using keywords in an article. That means the title should have the keyword and it should also appear in the content itself. The attractiveness of the article is also so important.

True. Focus on making your title catchy but do not make it clickbait. People despise clickbait nowadays and probably the number of your views might decrease.

The best way is to use the keywords you want to rank for in the title and input the long tail version in the meta data

You can use targeted keyword in the H1, H2, H3. You can use this type of keyword in the anchor text, long phrase keywords, in the headline in the content, and use keyword in the name of image.
