Ethereum is also a popular cryptocurrency like Bitcoin but has significant differences. It is an open source, decentralized and distributed blockchain network. Bitcoin can be used only as a digital currency whereas Ethereum is used as a technology to build new programs on top of that. In a nutshell, Ethereum is far advanced in terms of technology when compared with other cryptocurrencies. Ethereum was released in the year 2015. The currency of Ethereum is called Ether and is denoted by ETH.

Pros:

1. Smart contract: This is the most significant feature of Ethereum. Smart contracts are nothing but computer programs that gets automatically executed on the blockchain technology if it satisfies the given set of criteria. Developers can create their own codes and run them in the blockchain technology using smart contracts. They can run without any fraud or interference from the third party systems.

2. Low maintenance cost: If you can integrate or sync your system to the Ethereum blockchain, you can reduce the maintenance cost as it is completely managed by the blockchain technology of Ethereum.

3. Data security: Currently, the integrity and security of your confidential data depend on the third parties as they are stored on their servers. Ethereum technology aims to provide more control over the data to the creators than the third pay systems thereby reducing the chance of hacking.

4. Faster transactions: The average time taken to get confirmation for an Ether transaction in the blockchain is close to 3 minutes. So, it is faster when compared to Bitcoins.

Cons:

1. Gas fees are more for large-scale platforms.

2. Ethereum is used more as a technology than as a currency.

3. Ether is not widely accepted by merchants and is more used for internal purposes like paying transaction fees in the Ethereum blockchain.

I guess i should start collecting ethereum from now on. Looks like it has a potential to increase its value just like bitcoin did. If bitcoin price goes down, i feel ethreum will be the next on spotlight.

Yes,I am of the same opinion.Ethereum comes as value right after Bitcoin.It is a constant cryptocurrency on the market,and I should collect Ethereum too.I will definitely do that,if it is more easier to gather than Bitcoin.After that,I can convert Ethereum to Bitcoin.

I just saw this on another one of my sites. People really use this along with other deals. And all claim to make money.. Bitcoin really must be the future. Even saw them on cnn news here in the usa last week. never knew they were so big...

I got to know about ETN from a friend because I was only into claiming Bitcoins and litecoin.She said I was missing because ETN is the next biggest crypto,I has to read it up before joining the referral link se sent.I just joined and making some claims but I know it can't surpass Bitcoin.

Yes,I think,that you better invest in Bitcoin,when the value of it drops a little bit.Nowadays the value of Bitcoin is very high.The price of Ethereum dropped,but it can be back soon.I prefer though Bitcoin.

Note* to mine on pc you need a decent GPU and CPU, and the first step would be to download Geth from Github, the official program that communicates with Ethreum Network.

at the moment 1 = $734, its value remained somehow constant during the last 2 weeks

Depsite the 100 % rise in price , the coin is still not as popular as such but gradually people arw becoming aware of it and since munero and ripple are rise in handy, interests are divided

Ethereum has crossed over $760 , since the fall of bitcoin started, ethereum is less effected. Today it was reached even at $780, but fall to me $742 , still it remained strong in cryptocurrency market.

Bitcoin cash still has higher value than ethereum cos initially i thought ethereum was the second coin after bitcoin but Bitcoin cash is valued at $2000 + which make it second so far

the rank of a cryptocurrency isn't determined by its value, but by its market cap (check Coinmarketcap.com) and Ethereum was indeed ranked second until 2 days ago when Ripple took its place

Hopefully cryptokitties project does not affect much to the ether. and things get back to normal. I have noticed some of the issues with the ether lately. And hoping that things get lot better along the way. I have so far not much worked on those yet.

Ha-ha, I am not sure, never too late if there is still some room for upside.Who knows the price could go further up to$1000, right?

Good going by Ethereum, this was long considered as bitcoin rival, and really it is getting better and faster than bitcoin; now people are afraid of bitcoin due to raise in uncertainness, but this time Ethereum can have a better chance.
