When you first join the online workforce and want to make money with a website, affiliate marketing, blogging, or even vlogging, it can be a difficult choice. Each adventure you undertake has some major learning curves, ups and downs, and many disappointments. Therefore, before you decide on what you want to do for your content marketing efforts it is best to explore the different possibilities. In this tutorial, I'll be talking about blogging and vlogging. What is the difference between the two, which is best to choose, and how they differ?

What Are Blogging and Vlogging?

I'm sure everyone by now knows what a blog site is and how to create one. There are many different ways you can host a blog site, post content, and choose a niche for your site. However, Vlogging is very similar to blogging, but with vlogging, you care to create video blogs. Each one of these strategies is effective and can earn you money and drive more visitors to your website.

As a website owner, they now use blogs and vlogs to help drive more traffic to their website. Once your website is up and running it is now time to decide which is best for your site. Should you create a blog or a vlog?

Choosing Your Subject:

On your site, you want to create content that will engage your audience. On a blog site you can easily:
  • Write product reviews.
  • Provide instruction or how to article to help your readers.
  • Provide updates for the products.
  • Give advice.
  • Give long and detailed information.
  • Great for research and giving details about a country or a subject matter.
However, if you want to show a product, how it works, or even how to make a cake or even a craft, it is not so easy to write out the instruction. Therefore, it is a great idea to make a video to do this for you. This is a vlog that you can show on your site or on any video hosting company such as YouTube. Instead of writing out your content, you are giving visual content for a person to follow along. If you own a craft blog this is a good way to show a person how to make a new craft project. People who own cooking blogs will use this method to teach a person how to cook a new dish.

Skill Levels:

If you want to create a blog site you should have the following skill level:
  • Being a great writer is a must. You need to produce blog content that is error-free and easy to read. You can't add content to your site that has misspelled words or is filled with grammar errors.
  • Blog sites take time to write the content and proofread your work before it is posted online.
  • Having a knowledge and understanding of web design is a must. There are many free sites out there that offer you a way to host a blog site for free and they also supply you with the software to do this with. But unless you have a little knowledge and can modify your design, the site won't be very interesting at all.
  • Knowledge of SEO and how to use keywords in your content. You'll need to work hard to improve your blog so that you can rank well with Google. You need to drive traffic to your site in order to rank with search engines.

To create a vlog you'll need the following skill levels:
  • No need to worry about being a fantastic writer, all you need to care about is having charisma so that people will watch your videos.
  • You'll need to know how to create an entertaining video that people will want to watch.
  • You will need to have the appeal on the camera and be able to talk to people and keep them entertained. If you can't write a script to do this, then it is best that you stick to blogging instead.
Investment and Cost:

Vlogging can be a bit expensive to get the necessary equipment and software for filming and editing your videos before they are posted online. Furthermore, if you want to attract a large audience, you may need to invest in a set so you can film on the set. This will all depend on you and what you are trying to do.

Blogging is a bit cheaper, but you still need to invest in a hosting company and pay for your domain name registration. The price will depend on the hosting company you choose and how much space you require for your site.

Conclusion:

Both blogging and vlogging offer you the opportunity to make money online doing what you love to do. You just need to consider what you want to offer your readers or your viewers before you decide which is best for you. Just keep in mind, no matter what you choose they will both take a large amount of work to find followers for your blog site, or subscribers for your videos.

Which do you recommend - blogging or vlogging?

Vlogging is only good for the video promotions. I don't think they can be good for promoting the links or so. I prefer the blogging and the article writing for the content marketing. And from my efforts so far, it seems to be working for me to promote some videos. I have yet to get traction though so still experimenting.

The content is the main factor to decide whether a video will work better or a written piece. And in many cases the combination of both will be the best thing to do. For e.g if ti is about a cooking recipe, I would prefer both written piece as well as a video to guide me through and show the real way to go about it. So a combination of two would help here.

I think it depends on the type of the visitors you wish to target. Some have time for the video and some prefer the text. So the questioning between blogging and vlogging depends on your target. You can choose better targets with the blogging at first and once you get the traction go ahead with the vlogging.

Both content marketing and vlogging are equally good.

Content marketing is good for those who love to express their ideas in writing. It is easy to get organic traffic to your website, if you update your content regularly.

Vlogging, is the easiest way to get the word out by capturing catchy videos, just by using your phone or camera.

Some people love to read content, while others love to watch videos to learn something new. I use both for my personal and official work.

I suggest vlogging. However, you need to have video shooting skills, video editing skills and create videos on the topic that can go viral.
Vlogging is the real deal for making content go viral. So one need to learn video skills like editing and having quality content. Content is still king here

Vlogging may sound a bit complicated to newbies into content creation, it is also a bit more sophisticated than just writing a blog post, but it really is easy and can also be inserted into a blog.
Some topics online require a well written explanation, some others require a step by step video presentation, while for some, a combination of both written articles and video presentations is best.
YouTube is one of the most popular video hosting websites and videos from YouTube can be embedded into other websites and blogs, for me the most required skill set for blogging and vlogging is an understanding of basic HTML programming language and good writing and speaking skills.

Vlogging i think, but you will need to put more effort and skills into that. Well depending on what kind of content you will create. Since a lot of people are more into watching videos than reading.

Both are equally rewarding, but I think vlogging could have a better future to blogging because most prefer to watch than read , blogging isn't going away anytime soon too though

I think vlogging is better to use especially if you want to use it to present a product, and it require more effort if you want to earn from, it is very easy all you need to do is to put hard work.

It depends on your passion. If you ask me what is your favorite? I will go to blogging. Writing an article is like a classical topic. Writers can express their own opinion through blogs. Everyone can not do that. And I have a keyboard and a device. I will write anywhere I like
but vlogging needs equipment.

Lol, blogging easier to start more than vlogging. Vloghing requires handful of equipments before you get started with earning. But in blogging you need your computer or mobile device, get your domain name and web hosting server. Create exciting contents, gain traffic for your site and monetize with ads.
Yeah brother. Even once a time I have also have both option and I have to choose one. I choose to blog. I found a classic thing in blogging. Really easy and doesn't need much money to start. And also I don't even think any time about the content niche, I write whatever my mind wants.
But in vlogging it need concept writing ,planning and soo more

You're absolutely write. With your blog site, you might not choose a specific niche. A blogger can write anout any topics of his or her choice, as long as its a quality contents you'll drag readers and regular visitors. But vlogging requires concept and some equipment like mega phone, and lots of editing task to get going.
Yeah. Vlogging needs time to properly create. And one thing that vlogging is only published on youtube and a vlogger must maintain the rule of YouTubes.
But bloggers are independent, you can use multiple ad networks. They could also earn without google adsence.

I believe that when this topic was opened in 2016 blogging was still profitable in the meantime vlogging has become the most used way to distribute content on the internet even though there are still millions of sites on google most or moved on youtube, both those who publish as well as those who read.

I think it depends on the type of the visitors you wish to target. Some have time for the video and some prefer the text. So the questioning between blogging and vlogging depends on your target. You can choose better targets with the blogging at first and once you get the traction go ahead with the vlogging.
Its true that the audience preference matters a lot. It all's matters what the person does well. Most times people start with blogging before jumping into vlogging.

I think both vlogging and blogging are good for content marketting. They both get interested viewers when you promote them. Now it comes down to an individual's choice on which to focus on. Personally, I choose blogging because I am good at it while I don't know much with vlogging.

Blogging is better since you take control of your own content. You can also simply do a tandem operation - make a blog and write quality blogs regularly, and drive traffic through YouTube to your blog by making good videos that can complement your blog. It's a win-win solution.

The new trend now people want content that is explained to them as simple as possible so video presentation is better. So setting up a video channel on YouTube would be handy and for people wanting all the information it is better they visit your blog.So have both a vlog and blog in order to have a larger coverage of your visitors.

I believe that every form of marketing should be able to have a very good mixture of the two of them because they can be very important. There are some companies and customers that you are likely to convince if you are using a written articles or series and there are some that is going to be much more better if you are going to be marketing and using video advertisements and other forms of Media.

The truth is that if you are having the opportunity to choose any of them then why don't you just go with both of them. Customers usually like people who are creative and dynamic in the way in which they are advertising their product so creating both vlogging and blogging advertisement forms is going to be great.

I would rather go for blogging than vblogging. Blogging is easier to monetize than vblogging. To monitize a video, the video or the channel most have huge views and followers. And with that it can only be monetize with Google AdSense or sponsored post from companies and individuals.
But on blog I can monetize it with many ways like showing ads, promoting affliate links and many more.
