When you first join the online workforce and want to make money with a website, affiliate marketing, blogging, or even vlogging, it can be a difficult choice. Each adventure you undertake has some major learning curves, ups and downs, and many disappointments. Therefore, before you decide on what you want to do for your content marketing efforts it is best to explore the different possibilities. In this tutorial, I'll be talking about blogging and vlogging. What is the difference between the two, which is best to choose, and how they differ?

What Are Blogging and Vlogging?

I'm sure everyone by now knows what a blog site is and how to create one. There are many different ways you can host a blog site, post content, and choose a niche for your site. However, Vlogging is very similar to blogging, but with vlogging, you care to create video blogs. Each one of these strategies is effective and can earn you money and drive more visitors to your website.

As a website owner, they now use blogs and vlogs to help drive more traffic to their website. Once your website is up and running it is now time to decide which is best for your site. Should you create a blog or a vlog?

Choosing Your Subject:

On your site, you want to create content that will engage your audience. On a blog site you can easily:
  • Write product reviews.
  • Provide instruction or how to article to help your readers.
  • Provide updates for the products.
  • Give advice.
  • Give long and detailed information.
  • Great for research and giving details about a country or a subject matter.
However, if you want to show a product, how it works, or even how to make a cake or even a craft, it is not so easy to write out the instruction. Therefore, it is a great idea to make a video to do this for you. This is a vlog that you can show on your site or on any video hosting company such as YouTube. Instead of writing out your content, you are giving visual content for a person to follow along. If you own a craft blog this is a good way to show a person how to make a new craft project. People who own cooking blogs will use this method to teach a person how to cook a new dish.

Skill Levels:

If you want to create a blog site you should have the following skill level:
  • Being a great writer is a must. You need to produce blog content that is error-free and easy to read. You can't add content to your site that has misspelled words or is filled with grammar errors.
  • Blog sites take time to write the content and proofread your work before it is posted online.
  • Having a knowledge and understanding of web design is a must. There are many free sites out there that offer you a way to host a blog site for free and they also supply you with the software to do this with. But unless you have a little knowledge and can modify your design, the site won't be very interesting at all.
  • Knowledge of SEO and how to use keywords in your content. You'll need to work hard to improve your blog so that you can rank well with Google. You need to drive traffic to your site in order to rank with search engines.

To create a vlog you'll need the following skill levels:
  • No need to worry about being a fantastic writer, all you need to care about is having charisma so that people will watch your videos.
  • You'll need to know how to create an entertaining video that people will want to watch.
  • You will need to have the appeal on the camera and be able to talk to people and keep them entertained. If you can't write a script to do this, then it is best that you stick to blogging instead.
Investment and Cost:

Vlogging can be a bit expensive to get the necessary equipment and software for filming and editing your videos before they are posted online. Furthermore, if you want to attract a large audience, you may need to invest in a set so you can film on the set. This will all depend on you and what you are trying to do.

Blogging is a bit cheaper, but you still need to invest in a hosting company and pay for your domain name registration. The price will depend on the hosting company you choose and how much space you require for your site.

Conclusion:

Both blogging and vlogging offer you the opportunity to make money online doing what you love to do. You just need to consider what you want to offer your readers or your viewers before you decide which is best for you. Just keep in mind, no matter what you choose they will both take a large amount of work to find followers for your blog site, or subscribers for your videos.

Which do you recommend - blogging or vlogging?

Why not combine both? That way you
can direct traffic from your blog to
your vlog and vice versa!! Double
the chances of earning money!!

For me some subjects work better as
blogs and some work better as vlogs!
Vlogs really do depend on the vloggers
personality and voice though. Some
of the ones I've watched make me
switch off in seconds

I think it is better to try your luck at blogging and vlogging too. This way you can see, which one works out the best for you.I don't know though, how safe is to redirect traffic:the advertising networks do allow this type of procedure?

Both are good if you are choosing any to do perfectly. I know both blogging and vlogging but I don't have time to make new videos and blogs for my channel and site. Many people can earn so good from these.

Vlogging on sites like DTube and DLIve are definitely gaining some momentum. You can see that some of the people who choose to make use of the youtube and other sites are earning. And this can be slowly making sense to many people around. That's for sure.

First time i heard DTube and DLIve i will lookup these soon ! how many Views you need ! before you can cash out?

I never heard of those Dtub and Dlive channels. It is something like Youtube?I though don't think that it is easy to compete with Youtube...because it is for a very long time on the market and has enormous amount of viewers all around the world.

You can try both of them:blogging and vlogging too,to see, which one works best for you.You may have more success at for example at vlogging, and then you should focus on it.It is important to try out different things and focus on things that are really working.

sometimes I feel passion for blogging so make some posts on my blog and sometimes feel passion for vlogging so I make some tutorials for my channel but we should be stick with one to get success.

There are people, who are successful with blogging and vlogging too.Though I think it is more easier to go forward with vlogging,if you have the necessary equipment and original, entertaining ideas, and you can make good videos.Just have to promote them, and you may have success with them.

Blog writing is best for you if you are a good writer otherwise you had have to use another option instead of talking to the peoples. If you have full grip and huge amount of skills related to writing than you should have to use a blogging option. Thanks!

I think you should choose vlogging as it offers several features like you can easily monetize get easily accepted by the Google. Also, you don't have to pay anything for running your own YouTube channel. So, it's more better.

Having a combination of both Vlogging and Blogging is a good idea. Some things can be well expressed through videos while others are well expressed as written blogs. Though more people prefer videos in today's world, there are still people who love to read a blog.

Hi
What should I choose for my next online venture... blogging or vlogging?

I think that if you have no problems in communicating through videos then it's always better to go for Blogging instead of blogging. Writing Blogs and generating traffic for the blogs can be a very long drawn process which will require a lot of time and effort. Although you will also require to invest time and effort in creating quality videos, you may be able to generate good traffic if you have done videos with the topics that are trending and have high success rates.

Whether one opts for blogging or Vblogging, the quality and content can not be compromised. One can get traffic to blogging or videos only if it has a good content and quality to attract views and make it attractive to viewers. One will follow or visit the blog or videos only if it meets up a god quality and content.

You can take some time to try out both of them.It matters, which one fits you more, which one you enjoy the most creating contents on.Sometimes being enthusiastic about a certain working method can help you to improve your skills and to have more success as well.

That is very well put. It also depends on the skill, creativity and comfort ability of the person. Some might find it easier to blog and they might have good flair with writing. The same person can not be good with making videos. SO he can opt for only blogging. Some may be more comfortable and good with videos than writing. They can prefer Vlogging. If one is good with both he/she can have a mix of both.

You can start vlogging with basically a smartphone that has a good camera and an Youtube account or Facebook account.
Vblogging is good is your target audience loves videos. Additionally, those videos must be accompanies by some contents explaining the details since not all people will simply watch videos and off go. If you t create something interacting, I personally suggest to use the two hand in hand and depending on where you publish your videos eg YouTube, Blogging will help them boost traffic by linking to them..

You might be right about it.I have seen many successful vloggers, who had their own blogs, and they were in both fields successful. If you have plenty of time you can do both of them:blogging and vlogging in the same time.
