When you first join the online workforce and want to make money with a website, affiliate marketing, blogging, or even vlogging, it can be a difficult choice. Each adventure you undertake has some major learning curves, ups and downs, and many disappointments. Therefore, before you decide on what you want to do for your content marketing efforts it is best to explore the different possibilities. In this tutorial, I'll be talking about blogging and vlogging. What is the difference between the two, which is best to choose, and how they differ?

What Are Blogging and Vlogging?

I'm sure everyone by now knows what a blog site is and how to create one. There are many different ways you can host a blog site, post content, and choose a niche for your site. However, Vlogging is very similar to blogging, but with vlogging, you care to create video blogs. Each one of these strategies is effective and can earn you money and drive more visitors to your website.

As a website owner, they now use blogs and vlogs to help drive more traffic to their website. Once your website is up and running it is now time to decide which is best for your site. Should you create a blog or a vlog?

Choosing Your Subject:

On your site, you want to create content that will engage your audience. On a blog site you can easily:
  • Write product reviews.
  • Provide instruction or how to article to help your readers.
  • Provide updates for the products.
  • Give advice.
  • Give long and detailed information.
  • Great for research and giving details about a country or a subject matter.
However, if you want to show a product, how it works, or even how to make a cake or even a craft, it is not so easy to write out the instruction. Therefore, it is a great idea to make a video to do this for you. This is a vlog that you can show on your site or on any video hosting company such as YouTube. Instead of writing out your content, you are giving visual content for a person to follow along. If you own a craft blog this is a good way to show a person how to make a new craft project. People who own cooking blogs will use this method to teach a person how to cook a new dish.

Skill Levels:

If you want to create a blog site you should have the following skill level:
  • Being a great writer is a must. You need to produce blog content that is error-free and easy to read. You can't add content to your site that has misspelled words or is filled with grammar errors.
  • Blog sites take time to write the content and proofread your work before it is posted online.
  • Having a knowledge and understanding of web design is a must. There are many free sites out there that offer you a way to host a blog site for free and they also supply you with the software to do this with. But unless you have a little knowledge and can modify your design, the site won't be very interesting at all.
  • Knowledge of SEO and how to use keywords in your content. You'll need to work hard to improve your blog so that you can rank well with Google. You need to drive traffic to your site in order to rank with search engines.

To create a vlog you'll need the following skill levels:
  • No need to worry about being a fantastic writer, all you need to care about is having charisma so that people will watch your videos.
  • You'll need to know how to create an entertaining video that people will want to watch.
  • You will need to have the appeal on the camera and be able to talk to people and keep them entertained. If you can't write a script to do this, then it is best that you stick to blogging instead.
Investment and Cost:

Vlogging can be a bit expensive to get the necessary equipment and software for filming and editing your videos before they are posted online. Furthermore, if you want to attract a large audience, you may need to invest in a set so you can film on the set. This will all depend on you and what you are trying to do.

Blogging is a bit cheaper, but you still need to invest in a hosting company and pay for your domain name registration. The price will depend on the hosting company you choose and how much space you require for your site.

Conclusion:

Both blogging and vlogging offer you the opportunity to make money online doing what you love to do. You just need to consider what you want to offer your readers or your viewers before you decide which is best for you. Just keep in mind, no matter what you choose they will both take a large amount of work to find followers for your blog site, or subscribers for your videos.

Which do you recommend - blogging or vlogging?

I need to check out this vlog thing. Is it something like blogging? What would be the difference between the two. Maybe I can use it for my business.

It is similar to blogging but you vlog on YouTube. :) This means that you share what you want wit people through a video.

I might also try it soon.

Vlogging I have seen too,is very trendy in the Youtube channel too. There are vloggers, who are receiving over 200,000 views just in a day.Can you imagine how much the vlogger is earning?Well,in blogging too,if you are a successful one,you can earn a huge amount of money every month.

Now a days vlogging is on trending and one of my friend is vlogger and he is on the top now in our country and he is making good money from it because he is a comedian :D
I think blogging still holds the title. Many people are more comfortable with something that is known to work. I rather to blog than to vlog. That's just my opinion.

Yes you are I agree with you brother but it is upon success because every thing depend on hard work and success and if we do this 2 things we can acheive every things in every field :)

Yes,we can achieve anything with hard work and perseverance too.But we need some good elaborate strategy too,to have success on some field. That's why it is recommended to work smart too,by paying attention to many little details.

Yes,it is up to everybody what he prefers.Though it is important though,to choose carefully, where to be active, because you might have success on some fields and on other fields not that much.

Blogging and Vlogging are both different things but both can help earn good amount of money but hard work is desired in both. You cannot earn much initially and you need to keep doing well and with experience you can do well and you can innovate as well to do well on both.

I think that blogging is not that easy. You have to work much on SEO,if you don't want to invest much money on paid traffic.I do not have experience in vlogging,I guess that is not very easy,to make successful videos, though you just have to be creative, entertaining, and maybe your videos will have success.

Strategy is everything. Without that it's kind of hard to figure out your route to success. The most successful people had a plan.

I think you should choose Vlogging because it's more popular now than blogging. Aside from higher profit you will also have the chance to become popular. If you get viral, ads will come to you.

I think you might be right about it.People are very interested watching entertaining videos, and a smart video owner can earn a good amount of cash and popularity too in the same time.It requires some special eqipment, but I think it is worth it,if the videos will have success.

This is so true. I've seen lots of Vloggers who are famous now. Because of their popularity they offered to be a TV commercial model and if you're lucky enough you will be interviewed on TV and have guesting on different TV shows. Chances are you can start on acting career.

Yes,anybody with good instincts can really make a good career out of the videos.A famous vlogger, whom am I following has just been nominated by a famous magazine to some prizes and he will be hosting some tv shows too...I think this is just the beginning of his career.

Yes,if you have the necessary charm,to attract many people too, will bring success to your videos. The next step migh be already the show business,if you live in the USA.

I think vlogging seems to be a good option if you want to earn from it on regular basis. I have noticed that some fo the people who do it in the youtube. they seem to be making some really good money from it. I have found the blogging to be working on for other ways but requires traffic.

I think you could be famous anywhere. I don't live in the USA but there are lots of Vloggers in my country that are very famous now. Sometimes there are not Vloggers; it's just their videos got viral.

I feel the blogging is more popular because that is the traditional way of creating content. Many people may not even heard of vlogging.
