HTML and PHP are indispensable and CSS is a new help in page layout and design. If you need interactive interfaces, you will need JavaScript and Flash. If you need to deal with databases, you will need jQuery, for example.
HTML5 is now the easiest and simplest language in the world, with the need for other languages according to the need and purpose of the site

I think all language importance of web programming ,please follow here step by step :HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, SQL, Java and PHP,etc

I'd say PHP is hands on working to be the best. Almost every forum softwar eis based on PHP. Wordpress is based on php. And list goes on. You name it and that web based software is on php. So pretty much for web development i'd go with the php. Just goes to show you that some of the things about php may not be good enough though. and it may make you use other languages. Asp and ruby on rails are two another group of frameworks which are good enough for the web design. As you can see those are good enough for the web development too. but for each one of us it could be different as well.

I thinks these programming languages are the best and popular for building a website :
Back-End : PHP, JAVA or C# and MySQL or SQL Server for databases
Front-End : HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript

Well depending whether you want to be a front end developer or back end developer..
If you want to go for front end then you should consider: HTML , CSS , JavaScript
Some back end languages are : PHP , Python , Ruby and other

In my opinion these are the most popular web programming languages.

I would say you can create really nice website with two languages. The two computers languages don't require much mathematic skill. They are HTML and CSS.

@HakimEl: I would suggest to remove Flash from your list. The popular browsers are reducing the support for Flash. In a few month you will having troubles to find a browser that will support it.

Its because everything is based on HTML5 now and Flash is losing its popularity. The pages are much faster than they were because of this change. Some web developers are actually forced to know both back end and front end and that can be pain for some of them because it takes a lot of time to learn and as well do in the same time.

So many programming language are in vogue now it will depend on what you really need to learn,I think for a beginner one can go for python and CSS but for more advance one can learn PHP and Bootstrap.

Html is source code and page layout specification language not programming ones !!,its a markup language .

The languages which are demanded in the market today are .Python ,php , HTML5 ,CSS3 , java , and the best place to learn programming languages at home and at the lowest price is, Udemy.com , it contains many free courses and also paid ones. I learnt CSS3 and HTML5 from there also a little bit of Javascript. I think you can find some good courses from there. Dont worry about paid ones they often get a discount mostly of 90%-95%.

No any programming language is required for web designing, html - hyper text markup language, css - cascading style sheet, just these two languages are required for web designing and these both are not programming languages.

PHP has to be the most used programming language from what i noticed as well, i'm also willing to learn it since it's not complicated and newbie-friendly

HTML, CSS, PHP, javascript are the languages which are from the beginning for today and they are upgrading, learning them are best for front end developers, and many tutorials there and you guys must try node.js too,I'm also currently learning those languages...

The best programming languages for website development are HTML5, CSS3, JAVASCRIPT, PHP.
The aforementioned languages are used in website design, HTML5, CSS3, JAVASCRIPT are used for frontend and PHP for backend.
