Web-hosting re-selling business seems to be one of the business that everyone talk about now online ,mostly in my locality, but now I have all the neccesary tools and experience to commence this business, the problem is what host-gheto offers is not going to yield any profit that meet up my demand buying a domain at the rate they offer and flip it for profit will never cover up the cost for starting the business so soon.

So which hosting company offer the best web hosting reselling business that is more cheaper than that of Host-gheto ,please analys the statistical profit that can be made here.

Its still profitable....and I can see alot of people jumping into this business over the recent years.
Try to cut the middle man either buy a dedi and install panel by yourself. It will help you increase margins by a lot. If not look out for a cheap reseller though not possible with cpanel due to their recent change in pricing.

yes, it's possible. it's almost money for no money at all. you have no capital needed to create products/services and yet you're already selling products and services of other people in exchange for a commission of course.

Good day all all

Yes it is profitable, I do it since 2003 but:

1) You have to go niche specified:
Do not sell to everyone, choose your target and stick with it... I sell hosting only to small and middle companies in 1 country... I do not advertise... all clients come by recomendations... I do not even have a page about hosting, but I have it in the cart options.

2) Do not over sell:
Unlimited this and that doesn't exist... even the universe is not unlimited... is your hard disk unlimited? ... In my experience, since 17+ years, I never used the word unlimited and I explain to my clients that I offer what is real (quantifiable).... My biggest disk pack is 25GB and traffic is 100GB traffic, and most clients use like 5% of that.

3) Better sell as an additional option to one specific service/hobby:
I offer consulting and some small jobs to small companies, and they always mention the hosting... that's where I come in.
How to find the service? easy, just think of whatever you like or already do, you love music, sell to artists, you love computers and tech (like me) sell to a little tech savvy clients.

4) You won't make money on domains:
Forget making money on domains... the money is in the hosting.

5) Sell to mature audience:
Forget the kids who change host every few months and complain of the slow this, bad that... look for long term mature audience... who know a bit about technology.

6) An extremely profitable strategy is:
To offer a free domain name website design, and invoice the hosting at 100$ a month or more (depends where you are), payed (6 months or 12 month in advance)... also include maintenance to that... Maintenance, not redesign... you will make big money with just few clients.
How? simple, build some demo sites in advance and show them, give them 1 month money back guarantee (minus the domain name and a tiny percent for the work), the time you finish the real site the month should be almost past... you see.
Note: if you already created demos to show, under your main domain, copy, paste and little change should be easy.

7) Do not offer complicated design services:
Just pick regular clients, like artists, lawyers, or doctors (depends on your hobbies) and do not accept clients with specific complicated websites to build.

8) Do not compete on price, compete on a full-service:
Do not fall in begging clients with discounts, compete on a complete service to fewer clients.

9) Even in poor or middle income countries you will make money:
My clients are in one country in Africa, everybody resell there for few dollars a month, me I offer what nobody else offers in that country, a website, a domain and a support all-in-one-place... they never loose a thing, they never loose a domain, they never get several support to contact (in average i get one support demand each month lol) and I ask x10 more than anyone I know.
Think about it for a moment, who does that? even in the states, companies rarely offer that, except freelancers etc.

10) How to start?

Easy, pick your hobby, go outside and knock on doors, tell everybody you offer a free website design + yearly support worth $$$$... in one day you will find many many interested... do not over complicate... simplify and be natural.

I hope this helps.
Love my advice, give me a like.
Cheers

now you can't just offer just domains and web hosting since a lot of competitors out there doing the same thing. Offer to install a script or debug a script for the customer or add some freebies like in my case I add free domain when ordering a higher plan on hosting, I offer to install a specialized script not included in the 1-click installer, offer to coach the customer via telegram or tawk.to for more tips and techniques on how to do business online that is very different when operating a brick-and-mortar business.

Absolutely still profitable but you need to think outside the box a bit and get creative if you want to make good headway. The market is very competitive and a bit saturated.

Reselling you will need a small initial investment anywhere form $50 to $200+ and be prepared to foot that until you can get enough customers to cover it which can take weeks or months.

The other option is to simply promote companies and become an affiliate, which can also be decent money and eliminates the need of you to support your customers as everything is passed to the provider.

As an example of money that can be earned our ambassadors earn 30% of plan cost for as long as the plan is active. If you were to get one sign-up per month for a year on our Mk 3 plan your yearly recurring income would be $4,320. On average at a good hosting company average service lifetime is around three years.

Kinda late, sorry for that, but I think it's better for you to create a new and official thread about your managed Wordpress hosting in the webhosting reviews subforum just above this thread along with a detailed review, features, pricing and your coupon system to attract advertisers and affiliates alike. It's better that way.

my advise is since if you are to test this type of business, start for free first and then slowly pay your way into paid resellership.

This thread is a question thread where the OP asked about whether or not reselling webhost is profitable. Not which webhost is the best.

Re-selling is profitable in general however if you want to give live support to clients due to various complex problem then you have to invest the money as best companies are originally giving good service otherwise people will look other companies as huge competition.

One of my friend was doing this business and he was excited at the beginning, but after 4 months it was hard to retain the customers, and also to get new customer and cpanel license is also very costly. Finally he shutdown the business.

I have sucessfully done this business, but I was offering something else.

I resold cpanel hosting, but each of my accounts comes with a PTC site installed --- if you can think of something similar, some way of adding value then I think it is possible to make money, otherwise, it will be hard.

According to my knowledge, cpanel is a premium one, how did you manage to buy it, it's costly. Also can you explain how you have made the profit pls.

A reseller account does not require you to buy a cPanel license for youself, you do not own the server, everything is managed.

You can buy reseller accounts for as little as $20-$30 per month, and these can easily host 10 or more small accounts.

Becuase I install a PTC site on each account that adds a lot of value to it so I can resell each account for considerably more than it costs me in hosting fees, that's my profit :)
