There is a major cryptocurrency group that is prominent on the reddit website and they are referred to as the wallstreetbets. There are many people that rely on their analysis and on their predictions as well. In a recent article, it seems that this group has been hacked and their binance coins has been stolen, totalling over 3k in binance coin. This equated to 2.1 million dollars. What are your thought son this development, and do you think that reddit forums will be under scrutiny now?

This is too much , but i think it might not affect reddit platforms ,because reddit already state their terms and condition for users to follow

I wonder how this could have happened. If it were just a crypto group, how come the hackers had access to their coins? Or was there some king of pooling that had the coin in a common wallet?
Because its still a mystery to me , i thought they even made their information public and it led to the hacking ,because such amount require adequate security

This is also a mystery to me as well, because if you are a group you would still have individual funds. Unless this was a collective fund, and then it is likely that teh hack was internal from one of the members in teh group. That is the only explanation that i can come up with.

Link or it didn't happen. There isn't a single thread at r/wallstreetbets. In addition the subreddit focus on stocks. Where is the relationship to crypto?

This is what am thinking ,maybe one of the members who had acess to the funds developed his own mode and hack the system, they should do more investigation

The investigators really have to look inwards because I fail to realize how such an unfortunate event could take place within a group without an insider.

Yeah they need to do more investigation because they can't just allow such amount of money to ,,there must be a hiding secret somewhere

I agree with you. Most of the time, hacks of this nature and for faucet sites or exchanges are often as a result of internal conflicts and therefore that is why they have the necessary information and are able to get around the firewalls as well.

Exchange platform could be external attacks ,because we know that external hackers might involve themselves in breaking through the platform , but this case is different

For a system to be hacked there must be a lop hole were the hackers can send their malicious wear, security update need to be run from time to time.

Wow, such a valuable and informative website hacked by these heartless scammers, just hope that they get to recover their bitcoins that were stolen and they should employ people to safe guard the platform becauuse thousands of people are relying on their analysis, like you rightly said.

It's still recoverable once the platform is actually able to track where the Bitcoin was actually taken to , I think the problem would be dissolved at the end of the day ,so proper tracking is really needed

that's a lot.. with that much one would think they would be wise enough to store it in more secure wallet like a hardware ones. if i lose such money i would be crying for sure lmao. but they should secure their crypto now and make this a lesson to be learnt

That is such a high amount of crypto stolen. How did that happen if they were just a reddit group? I am certain that they did not share their details in the group. Maybe they just mentioned how much they have and that made the hackers do all they can to get into their wallets.

Reddit only needs to tighten up their security and have a way of scrutinize their new members. There is a possibility of new members leaving the forum if the case like this continues popping up on the forum.

I know about wallstreetbets. It's a popular crypto currency movement that started from Reddit before spreading across. They even have a token launched with same name. How did the hacker gain access to their tokens? It must be an insider job.

Nowadays it has become very difficult to convince people towards online trading and Investment Due to this fear, the investor does not turn to online trading or investment because they know that their money can be a victim of hacking in this way. That's why now any forum or website should be fully secure So that there is no risk of such hacking.
