What are the chances that viral marketing can go bad?

If so then what we can do to avoid affecting our business? Thanks!

Viral marketing can go bad if the marketing is not done properly ,there could be bad marketing and when it goes viral people won't like to purchase the product

I understand marketting to be the fast spread of messages about a product from one person to another. I understand that it comes from the word virus and the people talking about the products are the users themselves. I guess this can go bad if what is being spread potrays a negative view of the products rather than the positives. That will make other people stay away from using the products.

Viral marketing can only go bad if it is not being harnessed properly and if it is being advertised by an unprofessional. To make your video marketing go viral and be productive, you should employ something that is more creative, unique and innovative by employing a twist in which people may not be able to fathom at first and also make the video duration short and intriguing. Video marketing strategy
is a game-changer and a plus, it works because alot of people are titling toward watching videos than reading blogs. It saves the time and stress of reading long write-ups and could also create entertainment.

When you are trying to market a product there is a very little chance that the product is going to be going viral and sometimes you cannot even predicted accurately. If you want to meet a very large audience or you want to spark any kind of controversy then I believe that the best thing to do is to seek celebrities on social media influencers.

A cheap and powerful strategy for raising awareness and promoting a company's name or product is viral marketing.
Businesses rely on their audience or targeted users to spread the word about their advertising campaigns and their positive experiences.
While a successful viral marketing campaign can cost-effectively raise enormous awareness of your brand, it also has the potential to weaken it.
Or, at the worst, generate unfavorable discussion about your company and its products.

Before starting your marketing, you have to know your audience or age bracket you are targeting, and the marketing jingles must be scrutise in order to make sure the right audience is targeted. Is only when the right is not targeted that is when marketing could go bad.

Viral marketing can go bad if it is not properly executed and monitored.there are some risks involved with viral marketing. For instance, messages and campaigns can be misinterpreted or misconstrued, potentially leading to negative repercussions. There is no guarantee that a specific message will go viral, which means that some campaigns may not be successful.

Viral marketing can go bad if you don't have your automation system in place properly. You are going to generate a lot of impression with close to nothing conversion and this is going to hurt your pocket as you are not going to make profit with the company you are running.

Viral marketing may have unforeseen negative effects, including insulting or alienating consumers, breaking promises, being insincere, inciting inappropriate behavior, and promoting moral or legal problems. To avoid unfavorable effects, brands should concentrate on developing messaging and campaigns that are sincere, pertinent, and considerate to their audience.

more brand exposure, more traffic, and increased sales can all be achieved with the help of viral marketing. But there are also dangers connected to it that might endanger a company's reputation and bottom line. Here are some things to keep in mind to prevent viral marketing's unfavorable effects. Any viral marketing campaign should have its content carefully examined to make sure it adheres to your brand's principles and does not insult or alienate your target demographic.

If definitely you have not studied the niche properly and you are promoting wrong product and ad type to your people then surely you will get surrendered in the long term because you will only target the people this way who have no interest in your ads and wont do anything at all .

The image of the brand may suffer as a result of viral material. Customers may become disappointed and irate if a viral campaign makes too many promises but delivers too little, for instance. The audience will be able to see right away whether a piece of material is forced or unnaturally popular.

Viral marketing campaigns can definitely go wrong if not done carefully. For example, in 2012, the company Kmart tried to start a viral campaign with the hashtag #ShipMyPants. The campaign backfired because many people misunderstood the message and thought it was inappropriate.
