An anonymous person revealed that he made $250k after exploiting a bug from an investment site Soft Yearn (SYFI) which is kindof a like Yearn.finance clone. User said he only had an investment of 0.5 ETH but ultimately ended with 740 Eth. He was just observing the prices at Uniswap when SYFI token skyrocketed to 15.5k that was when he quickly sold the tokens. Though the rise was later announced was due to a bug in the protocol

What do we call this luck or knowing about a good thing at the right time. The user was just lucky to have experienced that when he or she did. This is really easy money

I think he was very smart to make such move like assuming he was still doubting if it would work he wouldn't have earn such amount of cash

This is one thing about cryptocurrency , once you have opportunity to maximize your profit don't waste time to sell because the price can reduce anytime .

Nope I think the guy had much patience because assuming he sold it when it got to 10eth might have regret for not being patient enough my opinion

That's all luck and all thanks to that bug, good of him to swiftly dispose off the tokens else his investment would have beeen reverted back to the original figure.

just calling him lucky is an understatement lol imagine if he didn't sell it at that point he would've lost a chance of a lifetime

You are so right about that. It was purely a once in a lifetime chance. To think he made cool easy money because of a bug and he was swift about it too.

True but don't forget that it can go either way , the price may fall thus the best thing is to sell when you have a moderate profit from the transaction

well true that the man was lucky and probably he made the best choice during the time, because had he waited any longer, the price could've just plummet greatly and he couldn't have any profit

I don't think it was only luck because if the guy also had patience and hardwork , if not it might have not been possible for him to earn such amount

I tihnk patience but I don't think about hardwork, as he didn't really do anything but he just made the right decision at the right moment to sell those tokens

Hardwork is part of it because he worked hard to earn 0.5 Eth which isn't easy to make so if he didn't have any cash how will he invest to earn that profit

No matter how I look at it, I still see it as pure luck. I am certain that there are others who invested at the same time with lesser or greater funds who had that timeline pass without any gains.

yeah i gotta agree with you he got a chance to multiply his money by alot and he took it not everyone was checking prices at that time and/or didn't sell

You just drove home my point exactly. He saw the chance and took it. Many probably did not see it talk less of taking such chance.

Okay if I may ask is it easy to exploit a bug or not? If hardwork is been omitted then it's not complete because he worked hard for it and achieve it

he never knew it was a bug in the first place, he just knew it after the company made a statement about the system bug. all he thought was that there was a rise and a chance for profit there
