As per Techcrunch, the popula short video sharing app TikTok and equally popular chat app WeChat will be banned and both removed from the App stores in the US region starting on 20th September. But due to acquisition proceeding with Oracle, Tiktok has given the chance to operate in the country up to 12th November. Unlike TikTok, which owned by Bytedance, WeChat is owned by Tencent, a mega investment company based in China.

So they finally ended up getting booted out of the US. This shouldn't push them out of business hopefully, since other markets are still available for them.

I don't even like this tiktok app, I find it childish.but I'm wondering the ban of it by the us government though. Apps that are not educating or of much value isn't just my thing.

i thought it was banned at the first place when it was announced, i never knew about the delay
also there were some news abour oracle acquiring tiktok, but i guess they never managed to do it

Same here. Tiktok only help people to waste valuable time doing nonprofitable things. Though different individuals have their taste so we don't get to decide for them.

Yeah, I thought acquiring tiktok was a condition for it not to be banned but I guess the plan fell through for the ban to have been effected.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised that this could happen because the fact that Trump banned these app does not necessarily mean that the populace is in support of that decision even if it is taken with their well being in mind.

Yeah . Many of the citizens have been earning with the app and thus the ban has affected their income , they will do anything to reiterate back to Trump

But why would they delay one and ban the other one in time irrespective of the acquirement by any company or whatsoever , I knew from onset tiktok had many advertisers from USA

That is Definitely the reason why they decided to get rid of it. The issues presented by them not having enough consideration for users privacy is one big deal that could not be tolerated.

Yeah there are also other big deals attached apart from user privacy violation and others , since the two countries are not in good term's so they split things

I only hope the two countries get to resolve whatsoever I it that is causing the tension, Because seriously I do not think it speaks good of them.

Am not sure if it will be resolve because the tension is too much even the trade agreement between the two countries have been cancelled

Power tussle is the problem and when such occur it is difficult to resolve because to a greater extent the two countries can be independent of each other.

This is clueless. When they have to focuse on covid19 and find a way out for their citizines now they are trying to ban tiktok this is not proper at all

As far i know,this decision is in considerable
They think of it
And we here dont like this app much
But young generation peoples Special girl love it most
And tiktok share's are in high rages
At last its a business fight between china and usa

I agree that there may be some political agenda behind the ban but there were reasons stated for it too. How genuine they are is another matter entirely.
