The UNICEF is now funding start ups by using cryptocurrency. There is a total of 8 companies that are being invested in, ranging over the course seven countries. these companies are aiming to help mitigate the impact of the covid-19 virus, and have previously received $100,000 from funding from the UNICEF and are now looking to increase this further with the funding being in terms of crypto, i..e 150 ETH.

The cryptocurrency amount of 125 ETH translates to roughly 28 thousand dollars. UNICEF has noted that the use of crypto has actually been quite beneficial to them as they were able to transfer all of the funds to the respective countries in around 20 minutes, with it only costing them around 20 dollars in transaction fees, with the funded countries including, Argentina, Mexico and Turkey.

This in itself shows huge potential for crypto in the future.

yeah i think in the future it will spread more between reputed organizations and companies...but it also needs more improvements tho
I'm rest assured that these big whales in the ocean won't leave no stone unturned in the quest for better services and an even more viable environment for businesses to thrive.

Let hope that some of the whales are not the scammers stealing people's coin but if the KYC is made compulsory those who didn't comply can be tracked and their coins be frozen

If UNICEF could be funding start ups with Crypto currency, and member nations are not refusing the fund in Crypto currencies does it mean they are indirectly warming to globally work with Crypto currencies?.

This is a great news for for not just cryptocurrency but ethereum in particular . if a body like UNICEF can believe in ethereum then there is better hope for cryptocurrency in future .

It is possible that UNICEF considered using ethereum either because of influence or low transaction fee as at then unlike recently that it was as high as $1 for like $10 transaction.
