UK National Security warned major football leagues that they were at risk of ransomware attacks now than ever before. Recently, a club named English Football League (EFL) was hacked and the hackers demanded ransom money of about 400 bitcoin. The club failed to pay and as a result, their entire system suffered a major crash. Football clubs MUST need to improve their online security...

oh well, the more people make their security system strong, the more the hackers learn, so finding an alternative would be a better choice in this case, that's a huge loss for them, let's hope they recover quickly

Hacking is becoming a business now for some people because the ransome demanded will be quite high so the keep on hacking. The best bet is protecting ones site.

This is new to me and the football club as well . however I believe that not just the football club alone but all the sectors in the world .cyber crime is on the rise now .

Let this be a lesson to them. Big club with load of cash like that should invest better in security measure against their database system. A good warning for other clubs too.

In as much as it serves as a warning to other clubs , I don't think that it is something worth applauding . Moreover a site can still be hacked even with strong security measures .

Even if hackers still can hack sites with high-security layers, would you choose to minimize the chance of hacking from happening by implementing as much as possible security layers or not? Obviously the answer is yes, they should.

Hackers became one of the business fields last year (it's like a source to make money). the big clubs should raise the degree of security and take care of those illegal activities.

Hackers have been around since the invention of internet though. They became more visible now because of we closely monitor news about crypto.

Was thinking that it was more of the vulnerability associated with cryptocurrency, which helps to hide them from being traced .

The advent of Crypto currency has redouble the efforts of the hackers as they see that anonymity is to an extent a plus to their illegal activities. If football clubs wish to engage in Crypto currency, they need to work on their system to be updated.

I think the problem here is that the hacker hacked the club , and is requesting payment in cryptocurrency in order to release the hacked information to the club .

Yeah I understood the point, this is just a wake up call to organizations with huge financial strength to tighten their security because hackers plan now is to receive funds in Crypto currency so they can't be traced.

Only if they can track the wallet address those hackers use in demanding bitcoin ,it would have been better and other clubs should improve their security

Yeah every site using crypto currency needs to improve their security system at least because of those hackers and other's football clubs should improve theirs

This is serious if a football club data base could be hacked how much more private individuals.the more security is beefed up the hacker up their game.may God help us
