As reported by Techcrunch, two members of Shopify's support team have stolen consumer's private data from more than 100 sellers. Both of them have been fired since then, and now the company has handed out the investigation effort to the FBI. Transactional details that have been stolen including names, private addresses and several other details, though the company said that the consumer's financial data is still safe.

This is a good step taken by Shopify in sacking this two hackers . They should monitor them as their being sacked may not necessarily stop them from hacking into the system again since they are familiar with it

So the two hackers where working for them?this is not that too good so they have been working in that same establishment?that is why if you see my previous post about one thread that was posted about hire someone to manage your busines for you I suggest that you shouldnt live yourself for the people working for you

Those two employees are examples of workers that give no value to their work and are too selfish to be bothered about the success of their companies. Stealing data for whatever reasons should be enough to give them some time in jail.

Most of these companies are guilty of breaching customer's data. Hope it's not a case of a joint deal gone wrong. Culprits should be compelled to pay huge sums of money to their victims.

Due to luck of a better term I would say that is some good effort that the company has intercepted such a huge criminal act on economies across as people were getting upperhand information and not competing at the same level in terms of this kind of a market base for consumer products.Hope full justice and remedy will be given to those mostly affected after the investigations.

True , we should work for our business but then you can't be the CEO of a company and at the same time be the technical engineer support . Someone needs to play a role in the company . We just have to be monitoring them

Well am happy they were caught but this should serve as a lesson to them so such thing won't happen again , and those people should be monitored since they already know the customers private details

I believe that the company have contacted the customers involved and they on their part have changed see of their details like password thus they won't have access again

Yeah that's true I think it's the best thing to do at first since the person might have dropped the details for someone Incase he is caught

Their handling the case to the FBI for proper investigation would help avert a situation where the workers would use the information at their disposal to do more harm. They would surely be properly dealt with.

Yeah that's their work , because if they don't do so the information will be used for another thing and it will cause more issues to the people

That is great of Shopify to fire such stuff who steal customer's private data. Such employees are the ones who sell this information to hackers so they can steal from people.

Data identities is more valuable than any other thing in the world
One thief can sell 100x times
Stoled data to others
Even now,its happening every where. We saw many news that hacker stole users data
Its sad?

Punishment well served for the two fraudsters. Good that they were caught and people's data are still safe. I know some of this criminal issues are always caused by insiders
