Mexican law enforcement agencies arrested two criminals named Ignacio Santoyo and Hector Ortiz for illegally conducting bitcoin transactions. Both of the culprits bought too many bitcoins and their transactions were flagged as suspicious which made it easier for authorities to track them down. Currently, cryptocurrency exchanges located in Mexico are supposed to report transactions that are above $2,830. More such criminals exist in darknet marketplaces where they are using bitcoin for bad purposes and I hope the authorities arrest them...

Wow, who would have thought that buying of too much Bitcoin will be tagged as a crime. If they were arrested for buying too much Bitcoin and they proved without reasonable doubt that the money used is theirs will that still be a crime?

Hmm, that's pretty sure, bitcoin Is a best medium for criminals, to do dark crimes, but thanks to the vigilant, who takes action against them.

Indeed that was a wonderful job from the Mexican law enforcement agencies for arrested the culprits, but may I know what's the reason bitcoin is the best medium in this kind of action? Although there are many altcoins out there to be used and keep the their identity as well

There should be strict laws about its transection. This is the main reason of its ban in different countries.

Well it was good thing but the downside is that with such activities most economic countries are going against bitcoin especially underdeveloped countries that can't afford to have money going out of banks too fast

If they are duely investigated and they are not guilty they will be released but if truly they engage in dirty deals that might be the end of their bitcoin.

That's unlucky day for the culprits. But I don't think their is any wrong doing about the Bitcoin they bought. They bought $2,000 plus Bitcoin on a genuine exchanger platform. How come they where prosecuted to face the wrath of the law??

That is exactly my point. The 'illegal' act seems quite harmless and very much legal to others not subjected to such policies. However, when it has been stated as illegal by the authorities, they should have just adhered.

Yes, they should have adhered to such policies of not exceeding the maximum transaction set for Bitcoin in their country. In my own country those laws are not implemented, you can buy and trade Bitcoin as much as you can afford.

They should face the law by disobeying the lay down rules. This is one of the reasons many country don't want to accept Bitcoin as a payment options.

This kind of news isn't new and wouldn't stop anytime soon because they are people with criminal blood running through their veins. They can't just stay away from frsud but good they were arrested. And others will be uncovered too and arrested

It is a wonder why able bodied men and women turn to crime. I've heard it said before that crime is in some peoples blood either because their family members are mostly criminals. I think criminals are psychologically unwell.

Well, it might just be the way you have stated but for me I think it is mere greed, people just have the itch and urge to always to always grab more so they go for others thing too

Yeah am happy they were caught because this would serve as a lesson to others, and shows that illegal transaction involving bitcoin can be tracked

Good that Bitcoin transactions can be traced or tracked now. It shows that we are making progress in nibbing criminal activities. It was just too much before now
