According to blockchain.news , Twitter has started improving their security with respect to November presidential election in US . This was promoted by the Twitter Bitcoin hack that happened in July .

The part of the security measures is the resetting of accounts with weak security passwords and the use of 2FA .
What's your take on this

This is a bit funny to me. Would they not have improved security if no elections were to place in the US? I hope they improve their reputation by doing this. It should have been done long time back.

I think the security measure here is mostly about hate posts, fake news, biased/loaded posts and smear campaign by other political party.

True talk . However I think this is to prevent a similar event where a top Twitter influential person account will be hacked and then used to promote a particular candidate .

That is very good then. Another thing is that another hacker could cause unnecessary rancour and pass falsified news across to people about the elections.

Yeah. These are the things they considered while working on improving their security measures. Outside the election , they also want to use it to gain back the trust of influential people on their platform

They really have to work things out, because the July hack showed there were loopholes they need to fix. Their reputation was threatened. Tightening up the security whether for the sake of the election or not is a necessity. This is something we expected them to have done even before now.

Well, just improve the safety conditions, especially for a very important event!
But in my opinion, anyway there is no chance guaranteed , to rule out some violations, by some experts hacker!

It's a nice move to curb any form of cheating or tricks, I found about the new security measures last week. Retweeting is hard to do now. Although the new security will only be available just for the elections, after we go back to default mode

I think it better for them to improve their security system so that hackers cant use the candidate twitter account to decampaign them infavour of the opposition party

Watching this conversation from a distance,though I must make mention that it is encouraging to learn that Twitter has put in tight measure for safe guarding any possible security data breach.At the end of the day what is a prerequisite is free and fair elections.We wish them luck and let the best candidate win.

Social media has been a major influence in all elections, not even in the United States of America but in all advanced countries. There is always tendency of people using social media to influence the the electorate, hence the major reason why Twitter has to make strict laws to guide against such an action.
