Twitter was hacked for over 30 minutes. Accounts were taken over to promote a bitcoin scam. Even US presidential hopeful was hacked with a tweet that said "I'm giving back to the community... all bitcoin sent to this address will be sent back doubles!"

Twitter is one of the biggest social media platforms and they allowed this to happen. That's pathetic in my opinion.

This is very bad ,those hackers might have been trying to make money with his legit account , I hate to see such thing happen ,I hope more security is been added to prevent such occurrance from hapening again

This can't happen without a loop either on the part of the company/organization or it's employee, because such scam is a well structured one. bringing down people reputation. I urge the necessary investigative body to bring those hackers to book...

All the people that were hacked in this Twitter account was as a result of greed .
Come to think of it , most of the account used in hacking people are people that has never publicly declare interest in cryptocurrency . so why will they start suddenly and in a ponzi manner ?

It rather unfortunate, this might have the traffic twitter generate because many people may seize using it , it is better twitter team do something to beef up security.

the logic is no way a famous figure or whoever in this world who have billion dollars asset will doing giveback such that, if they want to give to people then they will give it freely without ask you to send any penny to them.
That's my belief too but people easily believe cheap tricks , even if such tweet appear in a verified twitter accounts people should have asked questions.

Maybe people idolize celebrities too much in general

My fear is that this twitter scam will be have a negative effect on the use of bitcoin . I hope government will not ban the use of bitcoin world wide .
I wonder if the value will still rise as anticipated.

There might be more to it, because only the democrat government in the us were affected the likes of Obama and Joe Biden , except the owner of telsa who is not in any way related to the government , maybe its to tarnish their image

It's funny you say that. I had a similar thought but thought. I think it might be just a coincidence but it's still a strange coincidence. Maybe they targeted democrats because they are more likely to fall for such scams?

Am not sure if it a coincidence , because only two people from one party was used ,what happen to the other party was their twitter hard to hack by those hackers?

I read online that over $58000 were lost , so not only the Democrat can fall for such scams even the next party or anyone can fall for it ,because of the account it was coming from

an obvious ponzi scheme but most people still fell for it, probably just because it was posted from a famous person's account

I have seen similar post by influential people , but was never tempted to join in the scheme because I know very well , that no giveaways should look like a ponzi .

yep I agree that giveaways should be clear and transparent and not like just, send to this address and it will be sure to double , there's even no smart contracts in bitcoin

It is very unfortunate for Twitter profile of influential people to have been hacked however it is cheap scam for me to believe that Joe biden will post a freebies and I will succumb to it without proof .

i don't think that people who are holding their bitcoin fall for this scam, they are not that stupid and they have experience unless they are new and that's it, iv'e seen this kind of message on youtube one guy was making live on youtube and said same as they said on those twitters who got hacked i saw it like 3 months ago i immediately knew it was scam

This is true. Most social media users are only stuck to social media platforms, and lack knowledge of some ponzi schemes , thus will easily fall to any similar scheme

I agree with you , any one who has work to earn his bitcoin won't look twice into such tweet it is those who will fall that will still fall for it. I hope FBI will get positive result from their investigation.
