I see a lot of people spending their time and money into the streaming. And they seem to be doing it on both twitch and youtube. It seems youtube is once monetized applies to all videos. But in case of the twitch you get paid per stream and requires a lot of followers and manual application before they can get you to monetized for the video. So a lot of content remains free on the twitch. That makes me wonder do people other than gamers make money at twitch?

What do you think of monetizing a channel if it's not gaming related on twitch?

Actually it is rather easy to get yourself monetized on Twitch as long as your content isn't violating Twitch' ToS, to be applicable for the Affiliate program (where you get access to Twitch bits and subscription system) you need to have 50 followers, stream few times a week and have some active viewers, if you have checked these points then Twitch should automatically send you an invite to their program. If you want to monetize your streams with ads then yes, that's a bit more complicated as you need to be applicable for the Partner program.

In my opinion it's OK to monetize non-gaming content on Twitch, I've seen lots of cosplayers, software developers etc. have their content monetized without playing games on their streams.

That looks like a good news. I can't go much live. So no idea how to use it in such case. I am wondering if twitch can pay for the pre recorded content? If that is possible then I'd be happy to make use of the twitch for hosting my content. These days it can be pretty difficult to get it monetized with less followers.
