Teh one thing that is becoming increasingly prominent is the need for cryptocurrency exchange sites to require some sort of verification and KYC procedure and this generally involves you taking a picture of yourself and uploading your personal id document to the website as well. A turkish exchange BtcTurk, has admitted that in mid 2018 there was a leak in over 500000 users, where their id, details and mobile numbers were leaked and were sold on forums. What are your thoughts on this?

This is very bad ,but i dont seem to understand was it the exchange platform that leaked the verification id and others of the users , because crypto users need to start taking caution

From what my understanding of this entire situation is, it seems that this was brought about by a hack that teh exchange experienced where teh hackers managed to get this personal data for their users. This is very dangerous and brings into question their security protocols.

The exchange platforms at all times try to manage their challenges so that their platforms won't be affected as we are all aware that cryptocurrency market is volatile and sensitive to media updates.

If it was truly hacked, i am sure that many would remove their funds from the platform because they dont want their money to be Hacked i think

Not just turkey i guess. Many countries have suffer this including my country. I always get some spam offer by text message even in the middle of the nigh and that is very annoying.. Hope there is solution for this...

I agree with you. as soon as an exchange is hacked then many people will remove their funds for fear of future incidences of that nature. However, with such a hack and personal information being leaked, your information can constantly be used for various crypto portfolios that you may use.

People would be really scared. Because they don't know if the funds they have in the exchange platform would also be removed, because for their personal security to be removed shows a weaklink

That's typically careless of them to have allowed such, leaking users privacy to third parties isn't a good one, it's fraudulent because the users aren't aware of such exposure.
