You gotta spend money to make money... well.. kinda.
"You gotta spend money to make money" is a common analogy that I've heard all around, but the truth is you don't necessarily need to. I mean, yeah, it can technically streamline the process, but there's ways to go without much money. For example, if you want to make money, try the following things:
  • Making websites, apps or games
Learning to code can be complicated to newbies, but with just a few minutes a day you can learn it well.
The important thing here is not to bite more than you can chew. If you go straight in with a difficult language, it might not turn out well.
"But a computer science course costs money", well, if you wanna go that route, you can, but the goal here is to maximize profits.
A few tools I'd recommend for this are Sololearn and Codecademy (both helped me learn programming).
  • Invest in crypto/stocks
Again, don't put in what you can't afford to lose.
However, if you do get lucky, you can get big gains.
Just start small and work your way up if you're confident in your confidence.
  • Use GPT (get-paid-to) websites
This is another thing that can work for many people.
GPT (or get-paid-to) websites are websites where you, as the name implies, get-paid-to do things like take surveys, watch videos and other things.
This isn't guaranteed to work, but it is just what worked for me.
Thanks for reading, and good luck on your profits.

I wish you confident sharing numbers. However, if I can talk to myself back in 2008 when I starting my money making journey I would say to my self stay away from easy way "such as investing program" or get paid to' and get a real job, save some money, invest it on some youtube video production. Back then in 2014ish, making money with youtube was easier and full of fun too. more than today I think

If you're just starting out programming, you really don't need to spend money on programming courses. Get yerself to Codecademy (where I learned how to make a website, couldn't recommend it more), or to Educative (don't be put off by the tons of paid courses, they have free courses hiding too). If you're a student (i.e. in university or school) you can get yourself literally thousands of dollars worth of free stuff with the Github Education Pack too.

If you want to become a web developer, I recommend following this rough track:
  1. HTML
  2. CSS
  3. Optionally, also learn some basic Bootstrap - it makes styling easier [you could stop here if you aren't going to make interactive content]
  4. Javascript
  5. PHP [you could stop here if you don't want to do some more fancy stuff, but you've got this far, why would you stop now? :p]
  6. jQuery
  7. vue.js (a fantastic tool, speeds up development massively when you know how to use it)

Great analogy and useful insights op. Am not currently onto 1 and number 2, but I also make income from number three, and some other ways though.

Wow, that's sounds good of you. You know, a lot of people didn't experience about all what you mentioned, so some people think you can only make money by investing money. That was even my thoughts when I started involving myself on cryptocurrency business.

This is nice, I think with this information interested users can archive their dream jobs of becoming a programmer. I could have go for it but I have one of my friend that's training it presently now, let me just wait for him to master then I joined.

I would advice any newbie to start with get paid to websites even though they pay might be little when compared to the other two ways mentioned by the poster but that's where I feel I newbie should start from then gradually learn other high online money making methods.

Yes, that's true, when I was a newbie I wasn't know about paid to post forums especially legitimate forums like this BMF. I couldn't have lost money on cryptocurrency if I was earlier discovered discussion forums like this.

It's a nice experience, thanks for sharing. I have also investing on cryptocurrency, that was my first step on making money online though I face a lot of loses but at least I have experience about how it works.
