Obviously on some ways there has to be someone or something that complains of it's fall and noise.Best answer would be if you asked the aliens I bet.Please do not ask questions like this because they fall in the same category with that guy who asked if if fish was a vegetable

i have a fundamental & a deep question.

question - if a tree falls in the woods & there is nobody to hear the noise of it falling. does it make any noise ¿?

How important and deep is this question, initially it was just supposed to be a fun moment here to just relax our minds.

But if you want the actual answers then I would give a scientific one and another of a theological point of view.

The scientific being that yes a noise would be heard in the sense that there is a fluidic medium,air.When the tree falls it causes a disturbance in the air pressure field in the woods and that pressure field emanates away from the fallen tree.


Example:if we leave a tape recorder in the woods,even if someone is not there the disturbances made will still be recorded.

Theological view;a Bible scholar here was The full quote from Dr. George Berkeley, an Anglican Bishop and philosopher in the 1600s, was this: "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" The answer, according to George, is that yes, it did make a sound, because God heard.

You have to use another medium to communicate if I am to decode this further.

it was meant to be a joke. i was only messing around when i said it was a deep question. i thought everybody would see that i was just messing around. actually this saying is an old american Indian saying. so i appreciate you deeep & well thought out explanation. i guess i should of posted it on april 1st or april fools day. i hope there are no hard feelings.

I love this forum and I love as many sections as I can and I am so free here because the admin and the members are friendly.Though I do make mistakes as well and get punished.

This thread was just for relaxing and enjoying laughter and i have great plans for it.It is a ritual I have fallen in love with to be celebrating this every year.

Particularly this activity is meant to relax our minds and have virtual fun and forget all the stress of work,the COVID-19,Russian Ukraine war and all the world challenges we may be affected directly or indirectly.CHEERS!!

im sorry to tell you, but the human being is really considered to be an animal.

if i could suggest, that maybe seagulls are really horrible & rude animals. they are always stealing from each other, always squawking, making a fuss about everything, never getting along, always fighting between themselves, always fighting with other birds & animals.
