According to Decrypt.co
The Assistant governor of New Zealand Reserve Bank , Christian Hawkesby affirms the news that the country through the bank is preparing to develop a digital version of their fiat currency .
He however also said that they are not in rush to build this .
This has shown also that more countries are engaging into the plans of having a digital version of their cryptocurrency . In your view , what do you think about digital version of fiat currency ?

I think the advent of crypto and blockchain technology had made things more easier. Digital cryptos will be created even by the private sector. The government just need to sit back and regulate.

Like it was being discussed in some other thread, the digital version of fiat still holds the same value as the regular fiat but the differences may now include the flexibility of use in the digital version .
A digital version of a fiat currency sounds exciting already. Good that both the fiat and digital currency will have same value and flexibility of use is guaranteed too

It isn't a bad idea to me provided it will help the economy or boost it just the way it should be. But I know it might never replace fiat money

The digital version of their Fiat currency is not cryptocurrency , it is a CBDC . And it will help improve the rate of transaction because of its digital nature
