Be careful when copying and pasting a cryptocurrency address. There are warnings about a cryptocurrency scam via "copy and paste". In this case the warning appeared on Reddit, the user "seraf1990" was the affected one, this person lost $ 350 that he sent from Binance to a Coinbase address. He copied the BTC address from Coinbase and pasted it into Binance. Realizing that the sent BTCs did not arrive, he proceeded to check and was able to see the difference in the address, so it may have been changed in some way.
seraf1990 explains that generally the addresses changed when this type of attack happens are very different, which helps to detect the anomaly. But in this case the first 4 digits were totally the same.
Generally I always check the first 4 digits and the last 4 digits.
Do you always check the digits of the destination address?

same thing happened like 3 months ago with a QR-Code that could reveal all of your login credentials in Discord, a lot of users got affected and it was a trend in Discord

It must be quite unpleasant to be a victim of cybercriminals, even if we are very lazy or in a hurry, it is always good to take the necessary precautions to avoid being a victim or discovering piracy early.
Cybercriminals are always in constant search of trying to steal money from other people, similar to the physical world, but this is in the digital plane.

in discord, it's not a money's matter, but privacy matter, there's always someone who's trying to know what you are doing in your private life and what you discuss, psycho people...

That is a morbid that many have on the digital plane, they like to find out about your conversations, find out your privacy

I am not very familiar with the use of discord, however the violation of privacy is usually a tempting act for anyone who comes to cyberspace if you have any tool to see what your best friend does, you will be tempted to use it even if it is innocent.

The counting of addresses is usually a tedious thing especially if you are that paranoid who changes addresses every so often, however the warning about checking the shipping address is never too much I will take it into account.

Do you mean physical address, like your home address? Pretty sure a lot of people are only staying in one place than moving around a lot.

I don't understand what you mean by the address count. ?
Can you explain better?
It is true, many of us can feel this enormous curiosity even if we are innocent, it is different when you seek to know the privacy of others, when you work to achieve it.

[/CITAR]

I was referring to the reuse of bitcoin addresses, it seems that misspelling, it was always said that the publication of commonly used addresses in public places was a bad idea.

When you enthusiastically study about cryptography as I have been doing, we find that freedom is vital when it comes to maintaining a client-market relationship, you could be anyone and offer a product highlighting only mutual benefit to foster the relationship.

when it is supposed to work on privacy it is always important to maintain the privacy of both and to push the relationship according to the benefit.

reading this news where he copied from coinbase is quite a lead that the problem lies with coinbase? as he copied it from there, this is why even though I scan the qr code or copy paste from a wallet I usually always double to triple check the addresses

I have experienced this on freebit.co before such that immediately I place the address it changes and I lost coins ever since then I check several times before processing.

This exploit is quite old already and that's why I always typed in my btc or other crypto address rather than simple copy-pasting it.
This typing could make me make mistake easily, I copy and paste then compare the copied one with source to ensure they are the same instead of typing them.

Read, read and read again the address at least three times to ensure that you don't make mistake. It's simple and effective to me.

Sometimes even if I copy and paste the address I will still check to confirm if its correct or not so I will know if I am making any mistake PR not

yep because we're just human, lots of human error, I too type sometimes when my wallet can't read qr codes don't know what's the issue, though when I type then double checks and see that there are no errors but still the site would say that it is a not valid address, so in the end I would just copy and paste and just triple check

I have experienced this on a site, I wanted to be sure so I typed the address my self but it was rejected mostly on the ERC - token wallets.

yeah, dunno why some sites rejects correctly manually typed wallet addresses as they are still valid, I've experienced it too, so I am force to copy paste address and it will accept it that way

Generally, I copy and verify the addresses of the main currencies present in the different exchangers in which I have registered and paste them in a notepad file, thus reducing to its minimum the possibility of making a mistake or that some exploit changes the address. . So far none of that has happened to me.

That is so unfortunate that this has become a new way to scam and steal crypto currencies from people. Thanks for this alert. I always don't check if the adresses are the same when I copy and paste.
