Glassnode, a cryptocurrency data provision service, shared an interesting piece of data. According to the statement made by the company, the number of Bitcoins that have not moved for about 10 years, as of today, 2,001,519,167 .. There is no information as to why it has not been moved for that long, but it is estimated that such a situation occurred due to wallets whose passwords were lost.

The number of Bitcoins that have been dormant for about 10 years is really not small. The claim that many of them may belong to wallets whose passwords have been forgotten makes sense to me as well.

This is good. The less bitcoin there will be in circulation, the higher the price will go, as far as the demand is there.

There are possible reasons why this could happen. Just like you said, I believe majority of that number are for wallets that losts their privacy keys since people didn't take the keys serious in the beginning.

I think those that has lost there password should sick for password replacement, and those that decided to allow there crypto to remain in wallet are long term investors.

Surely its due to people who have lost their wallet password , but i think if such amount enters the market , it would cause a massive fall in price of bitcoin

That is a big amount to have been lost. I wonder how retrievable those coins are, or does that mean they are lost forever?
They are lost forever maybe ,because you can't just withdraw it from any site except the person is alive again to move the bitcoin i think

That is a shame and I can't imagine the regrets those who lost their private keys for a reason or the other would be feeling right now.

3 Types of Bitcoins -
1) Burned and not known (Like mistakenly send to ETH address.
2) Loss Password
3) Dead owner (who didn't inform his/her successor.

There might be others too, but these are the possible reason.

Yeah they would be feeling bad right now ,imagine that amount would go a long way in changing their lives for the best , hope things get better

Am not surprised by this fact because some of the holdlers are waiting for the $100,000k mark , some are not aware of their bitcoin keys

I hope there is a way those lost bitcoins can be retrieved.

I really feel sad for those people, as it's their money and they just can't have access to their fortune.
Well , that's sad that it can't be recovered anymore because there is need for the private key to be used in accessibility of the wallet.

They would learn their lesson and bounce back , but i think many are actually dead bitcoin , or some people are holding the bitcoin on their wallet

I think that perhaps to a large extent there is a lot of this bitcoin that has been forgotten about by the users and those that claimed it when there was an airdrop or perhaps when they were claiming it from faucets, and since then have forgotten about its existence. This is lost in my opinion.

This may not be entirely lost because the faucet sites can access the fund and steal them .it is only those store in dex that is lost

All unclaimed funds from faucets are still accessible by the admins of those faucets and likewise those people who didn't redeem their Airdrops Earnings.
