Hours ago, the popular twitter hacker that hacked a lot of celebrities accounts and asked for bitcoin got arrested, his whole name is Graham Clark, a 17 years old that lives in Florida, US.
He's also followed by 30 crime cases and will be sentenced tomorrow in the Court.

Normally these types of people are prosecuted but then their sentences are commuted and they are forced to work for the government without pay for some time.
The US government is not stupid and knows how to process this type of individuals, even Twitter itself must have it in sight.
What this event did was make it known to the world, so an extraordinary publicity was made.
The bad, how scammed people get their money back?
Yeah that's how it actually works, their skills are needed and jailing them like that won't help at all, they did the same to the ex- yahoo software engineer that got to users accounts

well that's true but on a second thought , I think if they are to do this , they will camouflage a public punishment and use him secretly, so that people won't feel that crime is not punishable for teenagers
I think you have a point here . if he was not punished as anticipated , then people will react to the court verdict . The court should find a way to judge the case so that all parties will be happy .

Really??? ROFL

I guess the scammed people won't get their money back early, because the whole amount will be seized by investigational agencies first, and the return of their money can be a matter of some months.
Initially, that boy must have transferred cryptocurrencies through networks that are almost impossible to trace, such as Monero, if the boy is scared by jail, perhaps he can inform them where he has that money.

I believe that the punishement shouldn't be leaked to public, so that gives no impact to people to commit more crimes and use itbas an example

hacking has nothing to do with age , all a hacker needs his knowledge and the right application or software for the hacking process . He must have plan this for a long time, before putting it into action
Age doesn't matter but smartness does, you can't just start hacking with basic hacking knowledge and expect good results, you have to use your smartness to use the tools in their perfect shape

He must have been hacking into others account while they kept mute and open new accounts, the recent ones exposed him because of the Calibre of people involved. He might have been hacking for like ,2 years.

That's right, but I guess they already have his computer seized and inspected, so they don't need his cooperation anymore, or at least it's not crucial.

If actually this is not the first time of hacking an influential person's account, then there should be concern on the security of the Twitter media .

That's what I thought also. There are basicaly three reasons why he was successful in hacking Twitter's accounts:

1) GIC is really a smart guy
2) accounts were not properly secured by respective users (weak passwords, no 2FA and all that sh*t)
3) a glitch in Twitter's security measures has occur, or their security is weak by design

Telling where he kept the money won't prevent him going to jail .
but atleast he'll tell them about how it was done so they take more security and safety measures the next time and hopefully improve their security system more and more

2) accounts were not properly secured by respective users (weak passwords, no 2FA and all that sh*t)
i don't think that such an important person like Elon Musk would use a weak password like "ilovemessi1234" as a password, also using brute force on password is a classic method that doesn't work in most of the times

These are truly gonna be the likely reasons for this , it like even the Influential people don't know the implications of their accounts been hacked otherwise they will ensure they are secured and also get reliable hand to manage it.

You may be right, it would be a shame if even him would make such basic mistake. We will see, at this time we don't have too much information about the case.

What I actually mean is that , if they intend to use him in fighting hackers , they should let the public know that he is jailed , so that justice will be met in the face of the public while he secretly works for the government

You have outlined quite an exhaustive list but I still believe that he had some kind of help from the inside. It is not that easy accessing the accounts of the elite class.

You mean "inside" from the Twitter itself? That would be a very bad sign for all users of Twitter if that would be revealed as one of possible reason.

And "elite class"? They're just common people with lots of money, and if you ask me, they mean literally nothing special to me.

That would be called misleading, it's better not to announce that, because it's a 50-50, hackers shouldn't know that they will be working after getting arrested

You didn't get the message . I mean nobody will know that their guy is working secretly , all that will be available to the public is that he is serving long time jail

You make me laugh. You may not see them as elite but truth be told, they are. That "lots of money" separates them from the rest. That is why there is "classification" in the first place. The way they invest in bitcoin or any business is never the same way others invest.

That's okay, I like to amuse people ;)

The reason I'm not accepting those wealthy persons as "elite" is simple: money doesn't make a person better. In my opinion is a "elite" somebody who has something useful in his/her head, who is not corrupted, who is open-minded, who is not a plain idiot, etc.

Its very good he was caught and this will give people more assurance that bitcoin scam can be traced in whatsoever way its been used ,thats good am happy the person was caught
